Video card question

Sorry for the stupid question, it's simple, I don't really understand this. I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 video card, I looked on the Internet, it says that it has more than 1000 mb of video memory. climbed into the DirectX diagnostic tool there it says that the total memory: 3754 mb. how so?

Alexey Mulyukin,
if you have an intel processor, this is memory that can be devoured by the graphics core.
the second it can be the maximum addressable memory from memory. because in some cases the video card can be added to the RAM, but as a rule it has nothing to do with games.
according to the mat, she probably has 1024mb and so it actually is. the sum of all the microcircuits on it gives so many mb. everything above is taken from the rest of the computer and reduces performance or leads to errors.

1000 - at the vidyakha. 4000 - RAM in slots on the motherboard.
