Runs without steam. (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)
Just today I noticed that The Witcher 3 starts without staem, it’s clear that the game is without protection, but I don’t remember something like that if the game was in the library and launched without a client.It's already the norm. Only disagreements with saving can go (Steam can then load its saves). Well, of course, time and achievements will not count.
Just tried it specifically. As usual, the Steam client automatically launched, followed by the game itself.

To run it without steam, you need to go to the folder with the game, bin/x64/witcher3.exe, and then it will run without steam, but it won’t work from the shortcut on the desktop that steam creates.

I just turned on the computer today, clicked on the game shortcut (by the way, I created the shortcut myself, because the old one was pixelated and didn’t change after the update) and the game started without launching the client, in other Steam games it starts automatically if you click on the game shortcut.
