Level 99 Griffin in Velen (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)
Walked around Velen. I have level 10. And a level 99 griffon flies on a hillock. This is fine? Maybe he's guarding something? Or will it be on a quest? Almost no damage to him.

If I remember correctly, he's level 25. Perhaps this is a bug or the game just hints that it's too early for you to fight him.

You can’t know what level it is (it’s definitely not 99, there’s no such thing in NG) for you, it’s just a shard, hammer it and come back later, at the initial levels, shards are almost invincible

He flies there all the time near the elven ruins. He's level 20+, not level 99. There are 49 levels on Skellige, the only one that's leveled up.
