Bug with witnesses' eyes

In one of my quests I got the eye of a witness, but an accidental event with a pentagram on the floor took away all my items, including the eye, and now I'm stuck with Plimbo's quest. Repeated passage of locations does not solve the problem. Is there any codes to get the eye?
