Realism, which is not

Many of the games are accepted praise for realism. Some players require arcade games realism. Meanwhile, the realism in games today is almost nonexistent, because it reduces the dynamics of the game and makes the game session is long and boring.

Do not you think that the fashion for realism is this marketing nonsense, helping to sell essentially the normal game sauce serious projects?

These games not so much, actually (I wish the author gave a couple of examples), talking about fashion is incorrect.

Again, depends on what is meant by realism and what purpose all this serves.

for games in General realism is not too relevant if not spoken about art and graphical style of the game
and it is here that the realism gives the game the pros because leather boots with the path tracing look like leather boots almost peck-peck. and if the style of play like real vision or camera then everything should be very realistichno and it affects the immersion and probably a big budget project with hypertrophic models and styling but this is not very well perceived. and in General it is some need of 3D graphics.
otherwise, the relation is more appropriate to define the plausibility and then you need to plug all sorts of reservations which can be divided into gaming terms and gaming conventions. gambling terms is a set of facts in which the world exists. a Convention is a different kind of gameplay crutches for comfortable and interesting pastime player with fixing it only on the most interesting appear.
therefore, in the everyday sense of a description of the realism and not realism like this

In simulations of shooters and realism only benefit, especially if the player has some knowledge. Although, I wouldn't want another WWII shooter about to knock on the key report to the headquarters, I don't remember the Morse code:) But the basic elements, like realistic models of weapons and vehicles, ballistics, proper speeds, limited inventory, able to even just take a mug from the table, or to enter any house, sometimes the need to clean the guns, realistic overview of the enemy, so as not agrilis for 200 meters across the wall at night in a thunderstorm, all this will benefit any project.
