Pumping HS and improving performance (Kingdom Come: Deliverance)

people, please tell me, does this pumping the concept of the rise of the characteristics due to the attachment points? I mean, how in the elder scrolls series, or all is automatic: if you use the skill, it's growing, it has only gone up a few skills on a few pieces of (suspended 5 units in the total amount of different skills), the level of HS itself rises?
