Tapered, personally I'm comfortable. I had to buy them for a ride on the bike since my last pair of jeans ripped from the hem to the knee when the leg has hit the gear (the system, for those who are in course). After that I had to buy narrower, and so comfortable to walk in them and drive now that you no longer know how I could do in a normal pipes.
