In Maine there is no sense of plot, but in the terrarium after murder all the bosses have to play.
well BEA...both games are interesting in their own way...their all with the same brush? -__- one 3D, the other 2D, one bunch of garbage, the other is smaller, but with more or less the developing world bosses...they both have all chances to become a games...they are the most popular game of 2011...at the level, but Lords of Uberdark will tear them all :P gygy (unfortunately she's the alpha, stupid ie, look at the engine can and a couple abilities)
I for minecraft because there are more opportunities and more shows the atmosphere of the game
terraria-adventures(49%)+action(49%) and construction(2%)
minecraft-survival+construction
each game is for their good and they should not compare
all differences are exactly
Why is Minecraft so often is compared to Terraria? First watch and really like, but the rest stop - no. In Minecraft, we begin with the construction and finish the construction of\the mining and in Terraria we begin with the construction and finish epic battles with the bosses.
Terraria is much better! mobs much more, and after the addition of hardcore mode, the game became much better! Terra surpassed minecraft
So I showed up after a long absence...

Hardcore was and new things added softcore.
Now kubach better. It is updated and most importantly 3D. This means that more features => more creativity. + on cubac lots of mods (Most of them crap, but there are suitable. Such as Aether or Industrial craft 2).
terraria gets boring faster, although motivations to further the game more than minecraft.
MINECRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TERRARIA - no, not heard)) PANB - LOVE - FAN!!!!!! I FOR MINEKRAFTOM and 1 500 000 people play in it and lebasian)) and about terriy not played a lot and tired))

It is impossible to say. Terrariums more interesting due to richer content and adventure component, which is not surprising, because the content for a 2D game is much easier to create. But, personally I don't like to build something in it, it's boring and the result is not impressive. And Terraria no longer growing, and still quite a buggy game.
Minecraft is still unknown what will become with time. For it is Mod API, after which the plugin will be easier to install and develop, then the game will be filled with custom content by the can not, and everyone will be able to collect your favourite Minecraft (including a converted Terrarium 3D, now there is a corresponding mod - http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/732709-132terraria-3d-v18-corruption-hallow-dungeons-guns-magic-mirror-grappling-hook-mana-smp-and-more/). Minecraft has much more potential in a creative way.
In General, I will say, it is impossible to fully compare such a different games, and even 2D with 3D. Each has its own characteristics that distinguish it from the other.
But still, Terraria is dead (and not getting rid of serious bugs), the normal tools for modding are not available (as far as I know), and the resumption of development is unlikely. Minecraft also has a bright future with the ability to do anything with him, and in the future (when it will stop buying) and it will open the source code. So that later he can develop in interesting and exciting even Terrarium.
I'll note that Terraria I really liked, but she could use further development.
PS So don't see any possibility to give an answer to the question. It's like the proverbial debate about which is better, S. T. A. L. K. E. R., Half-Life 2 or Doom 3. You can talk about preference, but not a direct comparison.
UPDATE: 15.07.2013
Now, when it became known about the development of the update to terraria 1.2, I'm looking forward to it. But for me it is an adventure game, which is fun to explore the caves and do all that is possible, thanks to its rich content of the game. I hope that someday Minecraft will tighten this aspect of gameplay.
