What happened to Henri? (Dark Souls 3)

For the passage looked at people in the catacombs of karthus is Henri and ESET his friend. Then in the location Iritis (Church Gorski) Henri should give a ring of the evil eye.
But in my travels there. What did I do wrong? and How can I get this ring?
