The topic of impressions of the game.What can you say about the game? This is a new indie project, inspired by Scandinavian folklore. In the role of "unusual" Fox, the player will have to make a trip to the "dying" world, following the Ghost Fox, leading our hero to a certain source of "damage" on a faraway mountain.
The gameplay of Spirit of the North is built around exploring the world and solving simple puzzles, which help us discover, as you progress through the supernatural abilities of our Fox. For example, the Fox will learn to sleep, freeing up your "spiritual" essence and thereby penetrating into previously inaccessible places.
In the Spirit of the North nice music and very nice Scandinavian landscapes. Sometimes this combination provides the player a good "relaxation" effect.
However, the local setting and the unusual main character – do not save the project from its shortcomings. In the first place, from the same type, boring gameplay: the player has a permanent look for the "magic" blue flowers, saturating the Fox "spiritual" energy and activate this energy, the ancient obelisks scattered around the world of the game. Often it is necessary many times to run back and forth to activate all the obelisks, or to solve a particular puzzle. Even the puzzles are not distinguished by ingenuity. "Platform" element, too, was not nice – and not the most successful animation of a jump and not particularly user-friendly control. In the end, Spirit of the North can quickly become bored.
On the other hand, the project is small, is passed in just a couple of evenings. But in General, if you want atmospheric and relaxing trip in beautiful locations, it is better pereproyti Journey, kindly ported by the developers on the PC last year.
