Quest Test Stoick (Pillars of Eternity)

Hi, I have a small question about this quest:
I know that he is in constant conversations with a Stoic, however, after the first vision I had the option in dialogue with him - I suspect that I somehow cycled her back in to the visions, because there are some branches of the dialogue, though I already talked to him on the subject. However, the quest journal is not updated.
So, I wonder, is this some kind of bug and I blew the player with a story quest, or the quest will continue to follow its course as it passes, just not updated in the log?
