In addition to the above. In the sound settings, the recording - microphone - levels, it is possible to set the gain of the microphone by sliding the lever as far right as possible. If that doesn't help, then probably the problem is in the MIC/wire/connector.

the same thing, put the gain on high and it was audible, however the sound is terrible.
