How to compare objects with each other? (Dark Souls 2)

Can't compare objects, those which, on hero and vendors.
And when the hero in a backpack, then they can. Just reluctant to spend (soul), for items that are below those that are on me or in my backpack.
The only way to compare objects, only to take a picture. And look, suits you the item or not.
