Who passed the hardest level? (Far Cry)
Same problem! When I first started the game, I did something with the settings and did not notice how I started playing at the most difficult level! I also think, if I play on average, then how is it harder ?? I saw it by chance at the level where you need to go to the bunker, I was stunned! Well, I think I'm cool! But I've already regretted it five hundred times! Now I started the level where the invisible ones are wet at the beginning. But if things go on like this, I think I'll go by the New Year! :)Jumping mutants got me, if I somehow bypassed the missilemen, then they shot so well (I spent all the charges on them)
As I remember now. The last boss was demolished ... I didn't understand how, but very quickly. I was surprised: "How is it, the whole game was seething with anger, and the boss slammed so easily ?!"
But for sure, he probably meant Doyle ...
I just thought at first that he was talking about Krieger. I don’t take Doyle as a boss, so I thought.
Moreover, a couple of times I managed to somehow fill Krieger in just a few seconds. True, it was on "Veteran" ... plus luck.
This is how the AI Autobalance works for Krieger. It looks like he and fall from one line because of this.
I passed on the Hard level with the auto balance turned on, and the grenade launchers created much more problems for me than Krieger.
The "evil scientist" fell from the first turn from m4, without even reaching the hero.
Grandshot
No, I have never (not really once) played with auto-balance, it just so happened. But I was lucky then, apparently, the guards did not have time to react for some reason ... the
grenade launchers created many times more problems for me than Krieger.
Fat men or measurements? Because the grenade launchers on the way to Doyle's hideout are too closely packed and spread themselves with their own rockets if you tease them with stones from below, and this is so easy that for some time now, in principle, I don’t do that.
Here is the only grenade launcher BEFORE Krieger - this one, yes, that still hemorrhoid. Now, I know that the main thing in that place is not to let anyone see you, and before, while this counter did not cut through, they carried me out ten times in a row - usually, first, the grenade launcher will take everything down to half of his health from afar, and the rest will fill up in a crowd and finish the job.
Traigen
Kapets, I would have thrown it out long ago. Actually, he did so.
So after all, it is easy to run with her.
You don't really run around there.
Well, with your hellish mod - of course you can't run. )))
But if you are muddying Rambo-style, then without good maneuverability it is a bit tough. If there was a machete or a pistol on the Dam, I would always take it.
In general, once, for the sake of experiment, I twisted all the guns at 100% wearing speed, like Deagle and Machete, so that they could run equally fast with any set. I thought it would be more convenient to play this way, but no, - firstly, that pleasant feeling of solid massiveness of heavy cannons with their unhurried inert swinging in their hands disappeared, and secondly, the gameplay has lost an important connotation - a kind of mini-game in a big game - when you have to reckon with the current set of barrels, choosing light for more speed and heavy for more firepower, constantly changing and combining them according to the situation.
if you tease them with stones from below
Who else did that?
Probably everyone who discovered their suicidal tendencies simply by throwing a grenade up at them and suddenly getting more effect than expected. ))
PS: Immediately the picture presented itself, - there is a rocket launcher in the corner, a grenade without a check rolls up to him, and he is like: "Stop! I better myself! I myself!", - and a rocket x ... yak at my feet ...
I decided to replay the first Far Edge for the sake of nostalgia. The game was initially pleased with the support of new operating systems and widescreen resolutions. I remembered that the game 10 years ago, even on Easy, seemed not easy, but in order to feel all its charm and get at least some challenge, I immediately put Realistic without AI autobalance (before I read the forum, I was not at all aware of what the latter influenced). I did not expect that being a nerd with a tough reaction and instant aiming at the head, I would die many times, lie in the grass for half an hour and scare every bot. I don't know what some girls were boasting about the machete and the pistol above, but each exit to the open space for me personally is equal to a quick death from 1-3 shots with full hp and armor. The corridor landscapes are quite simple, but the open spaces with tasks such as clearing camps have caused a lot of trouble. The weapons have a wide spread and cannot be controlled, there are many enemies, from point to point you will sometimes have to kill 25 people, they fire a standing Jack quickly for a kilometer, hear footsteps and shoot through the walls, react to any bunch, when they kill they begin to surround you until they find (this is not the Assassins Creed, where the enemy looked at the corpse, scratched his turnip and left) and GOD WHAT ARE THEY ARE BRIGHTNESS (I looked at YouTube walkthroughs, on Realism people have enemies for some reason rather oblique, as soon as they fire me, they kill me immediately after second, even the music sometimes does not have time to play). The most valuable thing is sniper cartridges, it makes the passage 5 times easier, but the developers took this into account and they are usually in the inventory from 0 to 10. I passed half, I don't even want to imagine what will happen on levels like the River, Dam or Vulcan. In general, the game delivered pleasantly, I think I can finish it off completely.
UPD: Reached the 16th River, this is such a tedious long and dirty level, I would have thrown it out of the game altogether. Enemies are darkness, bazookas on the rocks, machine guns, boats, helicopters, first-aid kits and armor are nowhere to be found, cartridges on OICW are also end-to-end. On land they crush with meat and 50% of health is simply not enough, but in water they kill instantly. Why was this inserted towards the end of the game, when the player is simply already exhausted. And yes, I would have watched the talkers from 2004 go through all this with a pistol and a knife.

Epic painted.) But not everything is really tough.
Each exit to an open space for me personally is equal to a quick death.
For everyone else, too.) Until the next zone is cleared, crawling out of the bushes or other shelter is pure suicide.
The corridor landscapes are quite simple, but the open spaces with tasks such as clearing camps have caused a lot of trouble.
For me, it's the opposite. It is possible (and necessary) to hide outside in dense vegetation, but indoors, reaction and accuracy are much more important, it's more difficult.
Weapons have a wide range and cannot be controlled.
Short bursts are possible. Very short, two or three rounds, no more. Sometimes this is the only thing that saves, plus it saves ammunition.
shoot through the walls
In theory, they shouldn't. Patch 1.4 (the penultimate one in a row) made the players happy with this bug - the enemy sees the player even where the level designers did not initially expect it.
But with a pistol and a machete, you can't go further than the middle of the game either, there are too many mutants and elite mercenaries. Actually, that desperate girl said that only for the time being it is possible to be so sophisticated in hardcore. I checked it, and yes, it is quite possible to pass with one pistol, but not very interesting. Somewhere you bypass the most dangerous places, somewhere you rush in transport without getting involved in a battle, somewhere you aim headshots while sitting in the bush.
PS:
pleased with the support of new OS and widescreen resolutions
Speaking of resolution, Far Cry is one of those games in which the picture narrows vertically on a wide screen instead of widening horizontally. After the usual "square" monitor, it is terribly inconvenient, as if you were walking with the zoom always on. I had to "push apart" the frame through scripts, otherwise I hardly even see my own hands, and only the upper half of the weapon looms in front of my nose.
I’ll tell you this, the dam is even more or less, but the swamps when our wench drives a wheelbarrow, then this is f*****c, 2 times I go through about 30 attempts I spent, I didn’t pass

There, when passing checkpoints, you need to look in the opposite direction from the enemy, then their AI is not activated.
I passed. The balance of the game was clearly honed for the "Difficult" mode. The "Veteran" and "Realistic" modes have artificially increased difficulty.
The fact that the game was not sharpened for the "Realistic" difficulty manifested itself on krygens with machine guns (especially in the Volcano mission, as if their accuracy and damage were increased by three times), stationary machine guns are also trash, you climb out on the floor with bumps and you are demolished in 0.5 seconds. , even in the mission where you need to sit behind the machine gun of the jeep while Valerie is driving, in motion the machine gun is useless because of the infernal scatter, you need to shoot at the enemy jeep for 5-8 seconds, they take you out in 2-3 seconds, you need to use rockets, they five pieces, they fly hellishly slowly, but you need to kill three jeeps and a helicopter, two misses and the mission can be reloaded. All of the above have the ability to "instant death, even if you have a full column of armor and health. To pass these moments you need to know the exact location of the enemies, shoot them first from the stealth mode.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND PLAYING "For Veterans", especially "Realistic", you will not enjoy it as a shooter, you will constantly die from the above and more. I have a global rank in CS, but this did not save me from dozens, dozens of reloads ... As for the "For Veterans" mode, these are my guesses, since I did not try it, but went through a couple of missions on "difficult" for the sake of interest, but on I know for sure about the "Realistic" mode, it's not worth it, to memorize the location of all strong enemies and walk like a moron on the courts - this is not a skill, but a stupid jerk!

I, having a global rank in CS, did not go through this moment without save_game I know for sure that the testers of this game also 100% could not pass without saving through the console. The game was clearly tested on a lower difficulty, and then they tweaked the overall damage, accuracy or health of opponents, without thinking about how playable it would be.

The problem is not the checkpoints, it's not a problem at all to kill opponents on them, the horror is that you need to destroy three jeeps and a helicopter. The machine gun is useless due to inadequate spread, five missiles remain, two misses and a GG. No physics + hellishly slow rocket flight = stupid random where the odds are very, very much not on your side.
Pomperpower
I play mostly Veteran. Realistic is not that difficult in itself, but there are "one-shots", and in some places it is too easy to catch these one-shots, that's why I prefer Veteran.
I have a global rank in CS, but this did not save me from dozens, dozens of reloads ... memorizing the location of all strong enemies and walking like a moron on the courts - this is not a skill, but a stupid jerk!
Well, FarCry is not CS after all, and it is supposed to be played differently. Including "walking on the courts."
the horror is that you need to destroy three jeeps and a helicopter.
I also messed around with this passage at one time, but then you just get used to the behavior of the rockets and crash those jeeps as soon as they appear, and you catch the helicopter at a certain moment when it flies more or less straight. By the way, the very first jeep (leaving the garage) can be trained to blow up with a grenade, and the next one (immediately outside the gate) - to deprive the driver and the shooter even before the race, of conventional weapons (underbarrel grenades from AG-36 or from a sniper through the gate and grass, aiming with binoculars ).
