Transferring inventory to another game mode (Dead Space 3)

Is it possible to transfer saved gear from a new game + to survival mode? Or do you have to go through each mode again?

As far as I understand, things are transferred when playing in the new game + mode.

Another question, if I end the survival mode and open the reward, will it be available in all modes? classic, hardcore? reward like improvement mk 2 and mega res.
