I'm going 100%, and I didn't want such a problem to ruin everything.
Quests are a little buggy, but not to the same extent. You can ignore the driver's phrases - there is an incomprehensible time out of sync. It is assumed that the player will immediately jump into the back. Any delay starts to glitch the voice-over script.
According to the task itself, you should rely on the most powerful machine gun, not a grenade launcher. And watch the truck status bar. To patch up in quiet moments and call into the camp in a fully serviceable truck.

I don't know, the truck was always followed and it was in excellent condition. I absolutely agree about the proposed grenade launcher. he is absolutely useless in one of the tasks against the helicopter.
