The best games of 2019
It's mid-December, which means New Year is coming soon. Therefore, it's time to hold the already traditional vote, in which users of the Gamemag.ru website forum determine the best and worst game projects of the past, this time 2019, year.
Rules:
1. In similar topics that took place before, most often, users were provided with a list of pre-selected games, from which everyone chose the winner in one category or another. This time, the participants are invited to vote by independently choosing the project they like in different subcategories. The template for this list is presented at the end of the header.
2. When compiling your list, please use a ready-made template. It is not necessary to fill in absolutely all the fields of the list or enter the specified number of nominees. Yes, this will give more final information, but no one forces you to do this)
3. Places must be indicated, as this greatly simplifies the procedure for counting votes. Even if your message contains only one game, please indicate to which category it belongs and put next to it the corresponding number of the place where it is located in your sheet. Games without a license plate and a specific category will NOT be counted in the voting.
Example.
Best game:
1. Control
4. Also, please indicate the name of the games as close as possible to their original spelling.
5. Regarding the points received:
- categories consisting of 10 positions are distributed as follows: 1st place - 10 points, 2nd - 9 points, ...., 10th - 1 point.
- where 5 positions are indicated - 1st place - 5 points, 2nd place - 4 points, 3rd place - 3 points, 4th place - 1 point, 5th place - 1 point
- where there is only one place, the selected position will receive 10 points in the "Game of the Year" category and 5 points in all others.
6. Voting will be held until mid / late January, after which the votes will be counted with the highest quality analysis of everything and everyone for about a week.
7. In order not to clutter up the page, etc., it makes sense to use the "spoiler" tag if the message contains a lot of text, gifs, pictures and other things.

I have a bad giz with categories, I write only those games that I played, but not necessarily everything went full:
Game of the Year
1. Control
The Remedies are finally back. No, they didn't go anywhere, released conflicting games (Alan Wijk and Quantum), moved more and more towards cinematography and sagged in gameplay, forgetting that their best games were great combinations of both components. And here, at last, they were able not only to return, but also to do something new. Wonderful gameplay, an interesting story, although the world is more interesting here than the plot itself, with an excellent setting, mysterious characters and a game structure in the style of metroidvania, which happened very well here. A visually minimalist masterpiece, and when the old gods of Asgard are in charge of the music again, there is nothing to worry about.
2. Death Stranding
Kojima didn’t have enough patience. Or time. Or maybe something else. The game looks like a great concept that even works great under good conditions, but once it's heavily tested (in the later stages of the game), it becomes annoying with its imperfections. The story, although beautiful, is served very sluggishly, it is dragged on by the actors, but not by the characters, of which there are really few well-developed ones. A new gaming experience of helping unknown players around the world is a really cool thing. The graphics are probably the best on ps4, but the trouble with music is that although Kojima has put together a good playlist, for some reason the timing of the music switching on is very strange and completely out of place with the situation in the game. From the "director" to see this is very strange.
3. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Miyazaki's worst game since the first Dark Souls is still one of the best games of the year. Frequent reuse of bosses, a very weak variety of gameplay, not the most interesting world to explore - all these are disadvantages that still cannot interrupt the power of the combat system and the constant desire to improve in order to pass another difficult enemy. Still the best at what she does.
4. Fire Emblem: Three Houses
For many fans, the Three Houses series turned out to be the weak part - the game has a rather easy difficulty even on hard, there are not enough classes, the tactics are scanty and a lot of unnecessary, as it seems, exploration, which mostly consists of tea parties, pumping and searching for lost things. And this is all partly true, but for the most part only applicable to a fan of the series. For a beginner, the game will not seem so easy, understanding how the mechanics work, the correct placement of fighters, the correct pumping, the competent use of gambits and classes - all this was interesting throughout the game. And not to say that I was only fascinated by them, the game is strong with its plot and many characters, and although the game often looks very bad graphically, the musical accompaniment here is the best this year,
5. Luigi's Mansion 3
Nintendo has such a layer of games - they are very casual, rustic, but at the same time captivating the player with their elaboration and lightness. Luigi's Mansion 3 is a great example of this approach this year. The game is very simple, but nevertheless, the thrill from the gameplay is unrealistic, even the bosses here are very easy, but the battle settings themselves are simply magical. And the whole game can be described as magical.
Best RPG
All adequate RPG lovers will look at this top and shower me with heavier cubes, but Disco Elysium is not in the first place only for one simple reason - I am still very far from completing it. Outer Worlds is an excellent example of a light RPG, as Biovar used to do, it manages, with its small scale, to seem like a big space travel with coolly written partners and a funny look at the modern world through the prism of satire. Perhaps Disco Elysium can be put in the top 1 from the very beginning, but this year there was also a very hyped game - Stygian, which did not deserve all the praise for the stump that came out of it in the end. Therefore, I would like to evaluate Disco in full.
1. Outer Worlds
2. Disco Elysium
Best Action
Spoiler
When a game that came out almost 10 years ago takes first place in the top of the best action games of the year, it means that either this year everything is bad with action games, or the game is just that good. And rich is the second time he's just that good. And in general, do not care that it is not formally the game of this year. Among the remaining, of course the new Kettlebells are the highest, the cover gunfights can still be adrenaline-pumping if done right. The game was spoiled quite a bit by a completely unnecessary "open world". The new spell is here only because of the multiplayer, for a long time the code was not so addictive, with a huge number of weapons, gadgets and awesome shooting. Division 2 could well have been higher, but the kettlebells, which are much better than her on the field of "clowns in shelters", prevented it. Well, crack3 appeared here also suddenly,
1. Halo: Reach
2. Gears 5
3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
4. Tom Clancy's Division 2
5. Crackdown 3
Best FPS (First Person Shooter)
There is no point in explaining the first 2 positions. The metro in 3rd place is more likely due to a lack of competitors than due to its merits, because the game as a shooter is still weak, but the journey on the Aurora was still exciting. Amid Evil is not as cool as last year's Dusk, but the level design reminiscent of old Anril and a wonderful arsenal puts the game on a par with other best examples of the revival of old-school shooters. In apex, titanfol shooting is all you need to know about it, the genre is already dying for me.
1. Halo: Reach
2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
3. Metro Exodus
4. Amid Evil
5. Apex Legends
Best Adventure / Adventure Game
I already wrote about Luigi, but Superliminal surprised me. It would seem that the whole game is based on one feature, but thanks to its short duration, it never ceases to amaze you with the possibilities of its application.
1. Luigi's Mansion 3
2. Superliminal
Best Sports / Racing Game
Best Strategy / Tactic of the Year
There are no separate nominations for CCI, so Sp # l fits well here. The best representative of its genre, a game with endless replayability, which is still developing and I'm sure the developers will not abandon it.
1. Fire Emblem: Three Houses
2. Slay the Spire
Indie of the Year
Blasphemous is here mostly because of its art, the game is unique in its visuals (at least in video games). Well, Mordhau is just what Chivalri was supposed to be - a real meat chopper.
1. Superliminal
2. Disco Elysium
3. Blasphemous
4. Amid Evil
5. Mordhau
Best Multiplayer
Of course, many will say that Rich is far from the best multiplayer halo, but nevertheless he is still good, crazy battles with the use of technology and abilities, crooked teammates constantly killing their own grenades, fun and nothing more. The battalion is here on development rights, although the game was in Early Access for a long time, only now it is starting to develop normally. The idea of combining competitive multiplayer with faceit is great and I hope more modern FPS will follow this path (or make a normal internal ladder).
1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
2. Apex Legends
3. Halo: Reach
4. Mordhau
5. Battalion 1944
Game with the best boss fights
Luigi is not the most difficult boss fights, but the most memorable and vivid. There is a lot of reuz in Sekiro, but you will remember a fight with a macaque or Genichiro for a long time, considering how much they made you sweat. In Sp # l * e, bosses always put a tough check on your entire game path, right up to meeting them. Well, Ultimate Alliance turned out to be crooked, especially in battles with bosses, but they also give you the heat, forcing you to choose the right synergies of characters and use abilities to the fullest.
1. Luigi's Mansion 3
2. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
3. Slay the Spire
4. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order
Best story
Sore Kojima, but the anime on the Emblem came out much more integral and competently presented than the history of the unification of America, which here and there contradicts itself. Outer Worlds takes on its characters and satirical world. Superliminal, while short, tells a great story about perspective, looking at problems and solving them. Well, Rich could have been top1.
1. Fire Emblem: Three Houses
2. Death Stranding
3. Outer Worlds
4. Superliminal
5. Halo: Reach
Best Soundtrack
This year, many big releases were crushing with their soundtrack, which often consisted of licensed songs rather than something originally written. Therefore, the Emblem with its bright and catchy melodies is top1 for me.
1. Fire Emblem: Three Houses
2. Death Stranding
3. Control
4. Outer Worlds
5. Halo: Reach
Picture of the Year (graphics + art design)
Thanks to Guerilla Games for helping Kojima make one of the most beautiful games on consoles, I was often surprised that my old lady ps4 could produce such a picture at all. Unfortunately, all the beauty of Control can be appreciated only on a PC, the work with particles here is amazing.
1. Death Stranding
2. Control
3. Resident Evil 2 Remake
4. Gears 5
5. Luigi's Mansion 3
Remaster Remake of the Year
If Rich had a full-fledged remaster, we would still see who would take the top1.
1. Resident Evil 2
2. Halo: Reach
Best Game Character
There are many empty characters in the Emblem, many with an interesting backstory, but only Dmitry develops better than others in the course of the story. The janitor from Kontrol takes with his mystery, mysticism around him, the strangest character of the year. In a strange way, Kojima's secondary characters came out better than the main characters and villains. Each with its own flavor, each opens up gradually and in the end remains itself. Obsidian always skillfully prescribes partners and this time they also did not disappoint. Parvati turned out to be very lively, constantly commenting on what is happening around, but not with banal phrases, but inserting some personal story.
1. Dimitri - Fire Emblem: Three Houses
2. Janitor - Control
3. Deadman - Death Stranding
4. Heartman - Death Stranding
5. Parvati - Outer Worlds
Announcement of the Year
Here, as if everything is clear, the union of Martin and Miyazaki was predetermined by fate, something incredibly cool awaits us. Or another good soul. Poe2 surprised with its announcement in principle, and besides, how it looked advantageously against the background of Diablo 4. Even the mobile version looks like a full-fledged port, and not a stub of Diablo Immortal. Nobody expected Deadley Premonition 2, Swery's last kickstarter failed and it would seem that we won't see any new projects from him, but then Nintendo came to the rescue and now I'm looking forward to a new immersion in the Twin Peaks game. Alukh is not at all what the fans wanted from Valve for many years (of course, everyone wanted Artifact 2), but the Half-Life announcement is not something that you can pass by. And finally I will be able to see in a convenient form whether xenoblade is really one of the best RPGs of the past generation.
1. The Elden Ring
2. Path of Exile 2
3. Deadly Premonition 2
4. Half-Life: Alyx
5. Xenoblade Chronicles Remaster
Disappointment of the Year (Among Games)
Not to say that I expected something from Dayz Gon, I initially had a huge skepticism. The game was not even disappointed, the audience disappointed. Every day you constantly read how the developers got everyone with dull open worlds, boring side effects and just the disgusting state of the games themselves. And now Dayz Gon comes out in which all this is in abundance, or even more and suddenly the game is bought by millions, and some even put it in the rank of the game of the year. Maximum double standards.
It's hard to write negatively about the Fallen Order as a fan of the Star Wars, because you won't find good games in the universe lately with fire. But this also does not mean that you have to pounce on any craft in the universe and not notice the shortcomings, which, unfortunately, are in bulk here. The game is in a disgusting technical condition, parkour and research at the level of 2010, the fighting curve, the graphics sometimes have nightmares.
You can argue as much as you like, but Biovar merged a long time ago. It's not even that they started doing worse, they just stopped trying to do better at one point. Of course, the difficult development process is to blame and who is really to blame - the publisher or the developer - cannot be clearly disassembled, but one thing is clear - at this rate, the biovar will produce low-quality, raw and just empty games, which is Anchem.
I was ready to put up with stupid characters with retard syndrome in the lead roles instead of Blazhkovich, the plot had already subsided in the new blood. I was ready to put up with an open game structure, which meant running around the same locations back and forth. But they ruined the most important thing on which the wolf held on - shooting. And it killed the game completely.
