Ford was accused of understating the passport consumption

Modern F-150 is multiple versions of the cab and the platform, multiplied by six motors: from frugal diesel Power Stroke 3.0 (253 HP, 597 N•m) with a combined consumption of 9.4 l/100 km according to the EPA standard (transmission 4x2) to an impressive 5.0 V8 (400 HP, 542 N•m 12.4 l/100 km).

Chicago law firm Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro on behalf of the group of plaintiffs sued Ford in U.S. district court in Detroit, accusing it of distortion of data on fuel consumption of a pickup truck Ford F-150 2018-2019 model years. The application States that the efficiency ratings (miles per gallon), listed on the stickers on the Windows, "higher than the rating obtained as the result of properly conducted tests under Federal regulations," reports Automotive News (that is, on paper, more miles, respectively, the fuel consumption below). To Ford replied that he had not reviewed the complaint and other comments until.

Accusation "against the F-150" was followed shortly after similar against Ranger. The arguments are the same: the specified documents consumption is lower than obtained in the standard test (the real operation of the question, there is already a lot depends on the driving style of the owner).

In addition, the plaintiffs claim that the F-150 set to "fraudulent the device" (program) showing the owner of the car consumption is more favourable than it is. If the claims are confirmed, it will be a big blow to the F-150 that we are only happy: earned top scores in crash tests by the insurance Institute for highway safety USA (IIHS) has released for testing in release Tremor and turned into a mad pickup Roush Nitemare with acceleration to 60 mph in 3.9 s.

After some time, the F-150 needs to receive the fully electric version. So it is in the "distorted fuel consumption" to blame will not work.

Note that incorrect data on fuel consumption (or the methods of measurements) previously recognized Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Subaru. As for Ford, the company as a major automaker, of course, from time to time is faced with various claims. You can recall the scandal with the overheated Mustangs or falling into the interior of the "fifth" Explorer exhaust gases.

And again the F-150: last fall, the company recalled more than two million copies due to the risk of fire when the triggering of the belt tensioners on the front seats.

With the Explorer (but only for the 1998 model year, this second generation) is associated, and recently lost the Ford business. According to the edition of IEN, in February 2019, the court of the County of Dallas (Alabama) ordered the company to pay $151 million to Travaris Smith, who broke his spine in a car crash 2015 (Smith was the passenger) and since then paralyzed. The driver tried to drive around crossing the road animal, and Explorer instead of the skid rolled over several times. The court considered that the revolution fault lies with congenital deficiencies of the design. Ford disagreed with this interpretation, however, the victim will receive compensation.
