Floating speed part 1 - logbook Toyota Corolla Ceres, 1996

There is such a strange disease in old Toyotas - falling and floating speeds in gears (D, R), which makes the car vibrate like a regular bus and dull at the start.

This topic has been repeatedly sucked on toyoto forums, but there is no unambiguous solution to this problem anywhere. Someone refers to the engine mounts (bugaga), others to the air filter, someone completely blames the gearbox. In my opinion, it can only be an electrician and again an electrician - ignition or sensors.

Let's take it for granted that the 5A-FE engine is in good condition, the compression in all cylinders is 13.5, the valves are adjusted, the candles are new. Let's get back to ignition.

First, I replaced the high-voltage wires with new ones (albeit a Chinese analogue). A few left swimming idle in any gear.

Next, the slider and the ignition distributor cover were replaced, the contacts of which already looked very unconvincing. (Don't buy Chinese ones - for me, here, exist brought a defective one, returned it back and took YEC three times more expensive - excellent quality).

Everything is easily done with your own hands, so there was no "visit to the service".

Now the next step is to buy a strobe and adjust the position of the distributor.

What are the errors and how were they fixed?

I had the same problem on a jeep, I brought it to the service for diagnostics, the computer showed 10 errors. The dough rolled off the pancake, 8 was removed. The car became noticeably better for acceleration and the gears are not so long on the machine

to be continued.

I stupidly lit up an engine error on the scoreboard, and after that I began to eat gasoline, oil, I didn’t drive more than 70, the gears were sooooo long

at the service they said that some kind of throttle sensor burned out, I
ordered a new one from Yapi, they sent everything, set it up, it turned out that the problem was not in it ...

try putting it on your computer. diagnostics will help. Well, as a last resort
