First trip in the snow — logbook Toyota Land Cruiser 2007
Today I returned from a business trip. We already have a real winter! I was delighted, because there was an opportunity to ride on the snow.
In the parking lot brushed snow from the door and hood. Think. how it starts — it stood for a week, and the last few days it was about minus 20 … It’s now — 11 on the street … Turn the key, glow the candles and … it started up)))) Half a turn … Class!
Warms up for a long time. Diesel))) Well, well. let's hit the road! It snowed just in the morning. The roads, as usual, are in municipal mismanagement, but that's what I need)))
The trip was disappointing and gratifying at the same time. "Disappointed" with excellent handling, predictability and excellent brake response. It’s even boring to ride — like on dry asphalt. Pleased with the same)))) Well. not bad!
However, I hasten to warn those. who decides to scorch on a slippery road with all-wheel drive — all-wheel drive is of course a cool thing. but for the time being. If a controlled skid is predictable on a monodrive, then on a full drive it usually occurs already beyond the controllability, and if the car has already suffered, then oh, how difficult it is to deal with it. Be carefull! Four-wheel drive "endures" for a long time, but then he can even joke evil himself!
Pleased with the heating function of the front window. When the button is pressed, the fan speed increases and the airflow is directed to the glass. I don’t know what happens inside at the same time, but the air on the glass goes VERY warm. Outside, the ice thaws very quickly. Ten minutes later, if it is not forcibly turned off, the button turns off automatically. Conveniently.
In general, the stove is just super! Very warm. Let's see what happens at lower temperatures.
Well. the car continues to please! And this is good!
Hmm, a good car, good tires are the key to good handling, and predictability on a winter road is a guarantee of safety!
And if not on the roads, but let's say really on the snow-covered wastelands, try to let her ride? although we are waiting for frost, right now the weather is not very good ...
On that trip, I drove along a snow-covered forest road, laid a track ... Rides! ))))))
It's right. But many people come to an adequate perception of the car only through their own, not always good, experience.
I would also add: we must remember that an all-wheel drive car accelerates and rides well on a slippery road, but stopping is no better than the rest, it is important not to forget about this. And in general, in every possible way to deal with the reassessment of the capabilities of the car on a slippery road :)
There are no candles. There is a grid. If it takes a long time to warm up, you need to see if the thermostat is worth it. They, I suppose, were let out at 5 temperatures.
