Chandelier — logbook Toyota Hilux Surf 1994
Several times I was asked about the chandelier, both on the page and in PM. Well, if necessary, then I will do no more review of the chandelier.
If you look purely from the aesthetic side, then the chandelier looks at the top five. No pipes, rather low, plastic at the place where the chandelier is attached, as a result, a good appearance. But how does this miracle shine? And it really shines very well, even when there were 4 halogen lamps, there was enough light as a worker. Now there are 2 xenon and 2 halogen lamps, the light is just the sea. But there is one BUT. This is a strong illumination of the hood. Personally, it does not bother me, especially after installing xenon.
Unfortunately, the fotik normally cannot convey how the chandelier shines. I came out either very light or dark as in this photo.
The lights are completely off in the garage.
There is a lot of space inside the plastic. Without any problems, 2 ignition blocks with wiring fit in and there is still room, I think delivering 2 more blocks will not be a problem.
In my case, they are fixed on 2-sided 3M tape and ties. When I fixed one of the blocks, I split the plastic a little. At the edges, it is rather fragile, but "in the frontal" withstood blows from fairly large branches.
The most clumsy thing about a chandelier is the setting of the light. It's just something. Since the headlights themselves are fastened with 2 bolts through the holes in the headlight and plastic, then you can adjust it only by changing the position of the bolts. Of course, the previous owner turned on the headlights without adjusting (as a result, the left one shone to the right of the car, the right one, on the contrary, to the left and the two middle ones up). Well, what did I have to fix it, at the same time I made cuts to accommodate xenon lamps with wiring.

The headlights themselves do not have any direction, and you can put the light bulb there as you like, just like twisting the reflective element itself. Light spot in the form of a regular circle. To open the headlight itself, it is enough to remove the rubber seal and the insides of the headlight in front of us with your hands. Replacing the lamp (halogen) also occurs without removing the headlight from the chandelier. Is that to collect in place a little inconvenient.
The chandelier itself is stupidly riveted through the roof, this is the biggest minus. Now, in order to remove the chandelier, you will have to close up holes on the roof. I think this is the only possible option, because. The tape will most likely come off. The power wire goes through a rubber seal, into the cabin and there is a toggle switch in the cabin. Where the food comes from, I did not look.

You can’t put a chandelier on a car without a sunroof, you can put it more precisely, but it will be problematic to adjust the light or remove the headlight. I found where it was possible to fall through the ice, the loss of the surf - 2 mudguards (then they were caught and lifted from the bottom), an unnecessary bumper part (installed in place and the bumper was removed to install the elevator and winch) and the rear axle shank oil seal (freshly filled oil Motul runs in a stream :((. The price tag is mixed agree. But such a chandelier will not survive hard use for a long time. I myself think that collective farms are made of metal. But it will be with the installation of the trunk. Here another crazy idea was born, throw out the standard torn off mud flaps and make new ones from the conveyor belt … I’m looking for where I can grab a piece of tape.

The guys don't say anything. Only about the winch and how the surf rushes ask. In general, from a formal point of view, you answer that for beauty they stand and are not connected. If you look at the GOST, then the installation of a chandelier is allowed, but you can install additional spotlights (working light). But their use must be carried out in accordance with section 19.6 of the "Rules of the Road" and off public roads. The electrical circuit for switching on lighting devices not intended for use on public roads must be designed in such a way that their switching on is possible only when the differential is locked, or when a downshift is engaged!
Infa with the PTIA Fund, they are legalizing such changes. And who is interested in xenon in a chandelier, which is used only in the forest.
This is all wonderful, of course, but what do the Gays say about this? Or have you transferred them to Smolensk? If there is some kind of technical regulation or other act, which says that on the t.s. class G, you can install a chandelier - please link to the official source, I would be very grateful.
But xenon is clearly installed artisanally and is prohibited, have they really never been stopped? o_o
