Realization of fantasies - Toyota FJ Cruiser, 4.0 liter, 2008
Well, it's Friday.
Over the past week, something has changed, namely: the
long-awaited on-board computer
, which took pride of place on the torpedo, exceeded all expectations. Initially, the reason for buying it was the inconvenience of observing instruments while driving, because. the upper part of the steering wheel blocked access to the speedometer and tachometer readings. As a result, the acquired engineering miracle monitors 54 (!) Out of 290 possible parameters ( dashdaq.com/specs/datalists/obd2.htm ), diagnoses errors
, makes it possible to reset them and keeps (at the request of the user) a log of any of its actions on an SD card. So now, to solve questions like "acceleration 0-100" or "how long the quarter went" no teammate or stopwatch is needed. Pressed "Start" and on start. :)
Connection:
Skins possible
,
, updates, and even installing custom software. It is also possible to connect individual sensors via USB.
Move on.
Under the hood, a locomotive whistle that miraculously fit there settled down miraculously ... uh ... signal
, all in all. I promise to use the amazingly low sound of perfect purity only for peaceful purposes. Now the Viair 460c compressor that came with the car ( auto-vin.com/product_info.php?products_id=4098 )
shakes not only wheels. I didn’t remove the regular signal, I don’t always want to scare the sparrows with a lion’s roar.
Driver's footwell lights have also been added.
and front passenger. The space around the door is now also illuminated with soft diffused light, done on all doors except the back. Solution: inside - LED self-adhesives, outside - they are the same, but in waterproof silicone.

Left passenger door:
To be continued.
Well done, where did you attach the diodes? As detailed as possible ... "Comp" is suitable for everyone, or do you need some features of the car, it is only a computer, or a mfushka (audio, video) ...
I took photos of mounting diodes. The solution is simple, but the effect exceeds expectations.
The computer is connected (see photo above) via OBD2 (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:OBD_002.jpg"), while it is ONLY a computer. For everything else, I have this: www.alpine-electronics.ru…a -stations/iva-w502r.html.

Concerning Board Com. - it's just a BOMB ... Where can I buy it and the price of the issue? Yes, and another question, can it work constantly when the car is running?
I apologize for the delay in answering, the corporate party and similar holidays did their dirty work - I did not approach the computer for three days. :) The computer was bought by my friend from the service station in the Moscow online store, I (alas) did not remember the address. The cost is $960.
Thanks for the positive feedback. Where to buy - I’ll find out tomorrow (I didn’t buy it) and I’ll write, the price is around $ 1000, I waited 7-8 days after ordering. Works with the ignition on and 30 seconds after it is turned off, i.e. constantly during the trip. Of the convenient chips - light and voice alarm when independently set limits of any of the measured parameters are reached. Let's say you don't want to turn the engine over the "x" speed - no problem, you set the "x" in the device and when it is exceeded, the scale signals you in advance with the color you have chosen, and the sweet aunt in English with the correct pronunciation calls to return to the limits of what is permitted.
