I tried "in my own skin" a lot of films and brands, so I can share my experience. It was business. and he himself spent a LOT of time reading forums and blogs, collecting bits of information and people's experience in order to make the best decision.

хх.09.2011 — A very important observation and conclusion that appeared later than the text I wrote, but because of their importance, I decided to put it at the beginning of the record: I was driving at night in a tinted car with a non-tinted windshield. And I came to an interesting conclusion that the tinting of the windshield really improves the perception of the surrounding world. By reducing the contrast, namely: when driving along the road (especially dimly lit and with oncoming cars) forward through an untinted windshield, there was only one visibility and the brightness of the oncoming headlights forced the eyes to tune in to bright light, as a result of which it was much less comfortable to look through the side ones , almost impossible! (an effect was created similar to a life situation when you turn off the light in a brightly lit room at night, after which you don’t see anything for a while, until your eyes get used to it) - I immediately drew attention to this, because. I’ve been used to driving “tinted in a circle” for several years now and I never had such situations day or night (if they arose, I knew myself for sure, I would have been tinted long ago, because safety is more important for me, though) — having traveled for several hours, I was convinced of my assumption and came to the unequivocal conclusion that at night it is much better to see when the windshield is also tinted in a place with tinted side windows! And even when compared with aquariums, because. the possibility of blinding by the headlights of an oncoming car or the light of the sun is excluded. Like this. would have been tinted a long time ago, tk. safety is more important for me though) — having traveled for several hours, I was convinced of my assumption and came to the unequivocal conclusion that at night you can see much better when the windshield is still tinted in a place with tinted side windows! But again, what is very important, you need to know the measure in everything! For "wisdom that passes the measure is more terrible than stupidity."

Well, then, I state what was said earlier - personal experience:

First you need to choose a brand. Do not trust anyone on the topic of quality and shade, because people praise what they have tried themselves, having no idea what other options there are, choose what you see live. There are quite good quality brands such as SunTek, LLumar, Johnson. How are they different? I have traveled enough with all the films, now I can say:

1. Color, for me this is the main factor, because. I want the outside of the glass to be exactly black, and not bluish, as is the case with American Standard! and was terribly upset by the bronze (brownish-green) tint of LLumar (this is how the sky will be reflected in cloudy weather in the glasses, I called the official representative office of Llumar in Moscow, they did not deny this fact). SanTek and Johnson clearly win this one. I chose SanTek HP5. Series descriptions can be found on the manufacturer's website. (Shades of different colors are not very significant, but I pay attention to this. For those who did not immediately enter what I am writing about here - all films (we consider only black tint films) reflect the world around us with some shade, the more% dimming, the stronger this shade is visible, it is most powerful when reflecting the sky in cloudy weather,

2. Quality of visibility from the inside: all films are of approximately the same quality. Llumar has a stronger lumen (outside and inside) compared to SunTek and Johnson at the same specified % obscuration. For some, this may be a plus, but for me it is definitely a minus, I darken to the maximum. And in combination with a bronze tint, I was forced to abandon Llumar altogether. PS as one toner explained to me why LLumar is advised to everyone as the highest quality film? everything is simple, as it turns out this film is the easiest to mold and less likely to spoil during the tinting process.

3. % light transmission .. I can immediately say that the difference between 5% and 15% is huge. If I didn’t get used to 15%, I sat down and went and everything is perfect and visible everywhere day and night, then you get used to 5% for a week or two, but again everything is visible at night (but not always, in unlit courtyards at first it will not be comfortable , also when reversing, in completely unlit courtyards, it will be necessary to put xenon in reverse (or open windows, who cares :)). Xenon in reversing lights is a separate topic, a must-have (we forget about opening windows when moving backwards in the absence of a reversing camera!

4. Tinted lobovuhi. For or against? - definitely FOR, but you need to understand that if the low beam is halogen, then you should not do less than 20-30% of light transmission! with 35% - I drove a year, day and night, in snow and rain, I can say that even on completely unlit tracks, I did not feel discomfort. The advantages are indescribable, you need to feel it, even with 35% the car becomes different (again, both inside and out), only those who drive like that will understand me! :) Having traveled a year with 35% — I will say for sure that I will never do 35% again. little - at the moment did - 18%. Moreover, if the whole car is rolled up in 5% and the forehead is left untouched - be sure - in daylight or the light of a lantern through the forehead - the interior of the car will be visible. So, it definitely depends on your needs and goals…

5. Responsibility. I decided to add this item as well. many do not know. The Code of Administrative Offenses, Article 12.5 paragraph 3(1) states: "driving a vehicle on which windows (including those covered with transparent colored films) are installed, the light transmission of which does not meet the requirements of the technical regulation on the safety of wheeled vehicles, - entails the imposition of an administrative a fine of five hundred rubles." Moreover, you should be aware that both the tinting of the windshield and the front side windows are considered a violation. From 08/01/2010, it is planned to toughen punitive measures for this offense, although personally, in my opinion, the ban on tinting is a violation of human rights. So, who will still drive tinted - sincere respect to you and good luck driving!

July 23, 2011 — Today it happened that I was driving someone else's car, the windshield was not tinted, the sides were 5k, overboard the heat. 34 degrees, the air conditioner is working at full capacity in the cabin! BUT. despite the prahlad air, the sun is hot, and these 34 degrees of heat are felt ... it’s just warm like on the beach :) Horror ... here I was again convinced of what a blessing it is to drive in a tinted car in a circle ... Then I sat down in my car, stretched out in a smile, as usual, and forgot about the hot weather... :)

Vision from tinting sits very much, since visibility is not as clear, it becomes not like on plain glass, roll up at least 50% anyway, so it’s better to rip it off, otherwise vision will sit down at the end

Yes, everything is basically correct. Ass without toner! True, you need to get used to it gradually, especially on the windshield. At first I glued 35 unusually, after a couple of months I changed it to 15, and after another half a year I rolled everything into a nickel. True, after several years of riding, such vision began to sink (it may be somehow connected, I don’t know), but now I think the optimal is 5 everywhere + forehead 15.
