operation in winter - Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, 4.0 liter, 2008

Went the third winter since the purchase of the car. Before the first winter operation, I installed a Webasto preheater at a dealer, for which I gave a tidy sum of cash, but nevertheless I was pleased with this device. True, there is one unpleasant feature. This miracle sucks the battery charge, after which you have to keep the engine running for exactly as long as the heater worked. Several times he "sucked out" my battery completely!
Last winter, while in the parking lot of Krasnoyarsk, Webasto started on a timer and began his usual business: warm up the engine and interior. The frosts were quite severe, down to minus 35. Somehow, before this launch, the exhaust of the heater itself froze and all the gases that should go outside went through the cabin filter into the car interior, filling it with smoke and soot. Bad moment. I immediately went to the officers, they explained everything, explained it, fixed it and didn’t take a penny. Since then, there have been no problems with this device. True, the wiring from it was clumsily sent through the cabin, but this was fixed for free already in the Krasnoyarsk service familiar to us)))

But is it necessary to put such a thing on gasoline? Or do you have a diesel engine?

No, I have a 4 liter petrol engine! Of course it is necessary when you come to the parking lot in severe frost, and a heated engine and a warm interior are waiting for you! Any negatives inherent in the cold start of the engine are excluded! I stood on the Audi A6 from the factory, it was also gasoline!
