Korotkohod — Toyota Sprinter Trueno, 1.6 liter, 1998
Continuing to disassemble the parcel from odder , which I wrote about in the last post, I took out the following thing from it:
It seems to be an ordinary backstage, but in fact a short-stroke production of the TRD office beloved by all Toyota drivers. It really practically does not differ from the drain, except for the bending of the lever, and the absence of rubber inserts for the bolts. I didn’t even find the TRD inscription on it :)
Photo for comparison, stock on the left, turbojet on the right
I screwed this backstage on the car. The move turned out to be almost 2 times less. The handle with it is a little closer to the driver, though a little lower (the upper part of the lever is shorter).
The stroke of the handle can be compared in the photo. Stock on the left, turbojet on the right.
Neutral:
3rd gear:
4th gear:
A little screwed up with the position of the camera, but the difference is still visible.
What can I say about the feeling of the replacement ... Switching has become a little tougher, but faster and clearer. With aggressive driving, such a backstage is definitely more convenient. Yes, and with a calm after some getting used to, it is no worse than the drain. In general, I like it :)
So it seems due to the fact that the lever is made at a different angle. In fact, the 4th remained almost the same, but the 3rd is much closer - almost where it used to be neutral.
