Oil question — logbook Toyota Corona 1993
When buying, the old owner assured me that he poured only synthetics into the car. He inherited a canister of some unknown 5w40 synthetic oil.
I filled it in on my first visit to the service station.
But. Oil is a very important factor for the normal operation of the engine, this is no secret. It provides cooling, lubrication and cleaning of the engine from carbon deposits.
That is why the choice of a good oil greatly affects the operation of the engine and its durability.
Pure synthetics, as I understand it, is a very rare occurrence, and such oil is unrealistically expensive. In other cases, this is hydrocracking - the oil is still obtained from oil, albeit in a very tricky way.
What are the benefits of synthetic oils? Let even hydrocracking.
The fact that these oils have wider viscosity ranges and also retains its properties longer.
What types of oils have you tried?
BP Visco 5w40 - no questions asked, good oil, no minuses were found.
Esso Ultron 5w40 - cheap and cheerful, good oil.
I also tried some other German, according to the seller. On spill. It turned out to be so. The oil is corny "burned out", "gone". About 700 grams per 10,000 runs, and this has never happened before.
I stopped, in fact, on Mobil 1 Super 3000 5w40
I think that this is the best choice. Auto consumes less fuel, minimum low-pressure lamp burn time at cold start. Almost zero "fuel" at high mileage.
People, use mobile, treat the engine of your car! :)
=update=
Surprisingly, I could not find Mobil Super 3000 on the shelves of our city.
Took Mobil 1 Peak Life 5w50
+2000 km, normal flight :)
so you stopped on mobile1 or just on the mobile that is in the photo?
they are different oils.
Not really. Mobile 1 is just a line of oils broken down for "new", used and "old" cars. And the Super 3000 series is the same Mobil 1 without labels.
