And so … I'll start with the purchase of the motor. Bought for 50,000 rubles in the early summer of 2009. Then he began to slowly collect the missing parts and prepare the car. Starter, automatic transmission, MAF, switch, intercooler, fuel pump ... Before installing the engine on a car, I decided to get a little confused with the brakes, since it was AS ka, there were single-piston calipers. I bought two-piston from RS + new DBA brake discs and after rebuilding the calipers, I successfully installed everything on my car.
Somewhere in September, I agreed with friends from the Landcruiser club that they would provide me with a lift and access to a warehouse of used spare parts (it made the process very easy later on). At the end of September, he began to uproot.
It was decided to pull out the motor along with the box, for this, on the first day, the whole muzzle was dismantled, the radiators were removed, then the cardan and exhaust were disconnected. I remember the exhaust manifold interfered a lot, I couldn’t pull it out, it turned out only together with the motor, as it turned out later, I just had to unscrew the steering cardan.))
The first attempt to install a new motor was unsuccessful, the pallet lay on the beam, and the rear part lay on the steering rack. (the motor came from the mark of the 100th, with its supports and pillows). Since the JZ blocks ah are the same, we decided to try the supports with pillows and the pallet from the Lexus IS 300. The Lexus turned out to have the right pallet with a cutout for our beam. Everything went great the second time around. True, not like everyone else, close enough to the motor shield and high enough. Almost everyone unanimously said that my 6th cylinder would melt, but so far everything is fine. From the pleasant: due to the similar arrangement of the motor under the hood, the old radiator from AS ki, along with the impellers and the expansion tank, fit in without any problems.
Next, I had to transfer the GURA tank to the other side, because. on the jay, the attachment costs a little differently, the power steering is on the left, the generator is on the right (in the direction of travel). Accordingly, I had to look for high-pressure tubes on the rail, here, I think the ideal option is from GITA 3 liter, but I did not find it. I had to be content with more affordable tubes from the brand. A little collective farm and they are successfully installed. ))
Next, I started to connect the kondeya compressor, the old tubes also did not fit, I bought from IS 300. In general, IS300 is an ideal donor for a swap in terms of any small things.
From the pleasant: on Altez 1GFE, the fuel line runs on the right and the exhaust on the left, just like JZax, so it was not necessary to transfer the line, as they do on RS ah. But the return line still had to be done, for this the highway was cut fromland cruiser 80 , but this is not important, you just need a straight tube and a few rubber hoses. By the way, the return flow was fully implemented without removing the tank.
When installing the intercooler, it became obvious that the brain under the hood no longer has a place)) and subsequently the electrician transferred all this stuff to the salon. Also with the washer reservoir from the VAZ 2107, which now stands instead of the box with the brain. There is also a pipe to the throttle.
The Walbro pump was installed in a regular housing, I had to file quite a bit. Stsuko, a very noisy pump)))
Then began work on the electrics. They started the engine on the first day, somewhere at the end of September, the electrician still continued to torment the brain of the car and at the same time mine.
In principle, the entire mechanical part of the work was completed in about 100 hours, in this situation - a month, since I collected it exclusively in the evenings for 4 - 7 hours.
