Change of front brake pads - Toyota Corolla Ceres, 1.5 L, 1993

The desire arose quite a long time ago, the pads did not just squeak, but rustled with displeasure when braking. The impetus was the help of a friend when changing the pads (Chevrolet Lacetti).
The procedure itself ideally takes no more than half an hour. In the case of a friend (Lacetti), it dragged on for a couple of hours, because when the lower bolt was tightened, it magically broke, and the time was mostly spent looking for a replacement (which is not so easy at eight in the evening than, say, at 12 in the afternoon).
In general, I saw that there was nothing difficult and the next day I bought pads (850 rubles).

To my surprise, I found in my trunk everything I needed to remove the wheel (because I was sure that there was nothing like that).

I put bricks, raised the right side, removed the right wheel. He unscrewed the lower caliper bolt with the head. To get to the top was more problematic. I took another smaller tool head and broke it at the first effort.

I ran to the nearest tire fitting (200 meters), asked for a key for 12. By hook or by crook, the top bolt was also unscrewed, the caliper was raised, the pads were removed.

In general, there is nothing complicated, except that some efforts had to be made to squeeze the piston into the caliper.

Put on the wheel, lowered the right side. Raised the left side, removed the left wheel and that's it. Got up.
The head of the lower bolt was knocked off as much as possible. The key for 12 turned, the key for 11 did not climb. Attempts to do the impossible have led to nothing.
There were two options. Either look for a file at half past eight, kill a couple of hours to file two edges, or postpone the repair until tomorrow.

The second option was chosen. Having quietly passed two traffic lights (the pads on the wheels are different, after all) on the emergency gang, I parked the car until tomorrow.

The next day, waking up early (half an hour later than usual for work), I quietly drove to my car service (3 traffic lights), but without an emergency gang. Fortunately, there was no queue of car owners hungry for repairs, in 20 minutes the work was completed for 200 rubles.

Bottom line - the worn out front pads set off on their last voyage. The new pads have not yet worn down properly, so I still drive carefully and quietly. By the way, the brakes have changed a little - they have become smoother and less accurate.

Results.

Very easily soiled occupation. Extremely I would say. Yesterday my hands were black up to the elbows, but at least the weather was normal and I was wearing a T-shirt. A friend on the Lacetti turned out much cleaner.
