Various little things - Toyota Camry, 2.0L, 1987
Greetings to everyone who visited this post! Since I got the car in a ushatanny state, a number of small and not very small jambs were transferred to my head with it.
Some of them:
The oil pan was removed and aligned, and also aligned the adjacent edge, now it stands on the sealant without a gasket. In addition, 2 bolts were broken off, the rest of which I safely removed from the thread in the block. Some were brittle from the Japanese, or sour in 20 years.
Antifreeze was leaking from all places, from the rear drain plug, from the drain on the radiator, and from the front of the unit under the pump. Has been replaced by antifreeze as directed by the manufacturer. An autopsy showed that the drain hole was cracked, the old owner either defrosted the engine or pulled it to the point where it didn't matter, it was fixed. I smeared the drain hole in the radiator with sealant, it did not help, I tightened the bolt with the sealant, it keeps it right now. In front of the block I thought it was flowing from the upper tube, when I removed the pump, the technological plug turned out to be rotten, the consequences of antifreeze. And also half of the hoses were replaced and transferred to antifreeze. A new radiator plug was purchased, because it was not known from what and was without a check valve, that is, antifreeze was poured into the expansion barrel, but not back!
Also, after a long search for an air flow meter, we in Russia asked for a new one from 27 tons. and higher, but at the showdown I could not find it anywhere, neither in Vladik nor in ours. From Vladik, the man said that you can find them there for free in the trash, like they don't want to hear about such a bucket. In Rostov, he found him in one place, even dictated to him the number, what he looks like, the man said there is one for 5 tr., Came to Rostov, he says I was wrong, asshole, I just went in vain. I ordered from America, with delivery and customs clearance, it cost less than 5 tons.
I will add: The
steering rack was also removed, since it was flowing from under the oil seal, in the place where the steering column is attached. Replaced the oil seal, bearing, cleaned the entire rack, rinsed the covers and filled with new grease. I also changed the cardan, which is closer to the steering rack, since it is in such a place that it is constantly dirty and most often fails. I changed the fluid in the power steering.
