Put a real handbrake - instead of a scissor - Toyota Chaser, 3.0 l., 1998

Put a real handbrake - instead of a scissor - Toyota Chaser 30 l 1998

If someone does not know on markoobraznyh there are two types of handbrake. The first is which is activated with your left foot (to the left of the brake pedal), the second, like most cars, with your hand between the seats. On my Chayzer, until today, the handbrake was turned on with my foot, for me it was very inconvenient. I decided to redo it. For this I needed the handbrake itself, the cable and the glove compartment. First I removed the glove compartment, and all the panels in the middle and on the right side, then the driver's seat, unscrewed the standard handbrake pedal, it is fastened with two bolts in the engine compartment and inside the cabin the same two bolts, on top, Drilled two holes for attaching the parking brake, on some already have holes, I didn’t have, there are two layers of iron - there are already holes in the first layer, it remains to drill only the second layer. I drove onto the overpass, unscrewed the suspension on which the cardan is held, since it interferes with unscrewing the cable, unscrewed the cable, put the handbrake on, screwed the cable, pulled it, went down, checked it, everything works. lengthened the wire on the frog, pulled out the old handbrake and the cable, the cable under the casing is attached with two plastic nuts. I collected everything and now I drive sideways into turns. All the work took me half a day, we did it together.

Hey. I have such a question. The cable from the scissor won't fit the handbrake?
