Cleaning the radiator - is it necessary? - Toyota Avensis, 2.0L, 2001
I often met in the press notes that people clean radiators at least once every 2 years. At the same time, driving on a diesel engine that in itself heats up a little + living in the far north never felt the need for this procedure.
Usually my car in the summer by myself, I throw a Karcher on the radiator in the front through the grill, well, that's enough, it seems clean.
I arrived to the south, the car started warming up during long climbs at any speed and at a speed of over 130 km / h. At the same time, the air conditioner began to freeze worse. Initial inspection showed nothing, the external (air conditioner) radiator was pristine. I decided to fold the main radiator slightly to the side, giving the fasteners, here I experienced a shock, all the muck from the road flew through the air conditioner radiator freely, and settled in a single impenetrable thick carpet on the surface of the main radiator and in the honeycombs.
The radiator was removed and cleaned in NipponAuto (Novorossiysk), after spraying with detergent foam for contactless car wash and long-term washing with a cracker (distance of 25 cm from the nozzle from the honeycomb), the radiator showed almost 100% purity and transparency.
Do not neglect a good high-quality cleaning of the main radiator!Price tag: 2,400 ₽ Mileage: 172,000 km
