The old DVR was a regular flash camera, ie. a small camcorder that records to a flash card (or memory card or SD card). But this camera was stolen and a replacement had to be found.

Searched quickly. Even began to feel uncomfortable without video evidence. I'm used to that if anything, then you can safely prove your case with the help of a video, but here you are left without a video and it will be difficult and nervous to prove in a controversial situation.

Found what I was looking for. This is already a real purposeful DVR for cars with a special mount to the top of the windshield.

The main properties and differences from the previous camera. 1) it turns on itself when you start the car, 2) it splits the video recording for 5, 10, 15 minutes (how you set it up) and at the same time gives each file a name consisting of a date and time. It creates folders for each month itself and saves records accordingly by months. To make it convenient to find if necessary., 3) after the car is turned off, the recorder itself saves the last video and turns off.

That is, everything happens automatically here. You don't need to touch it at all. You will know that it has turned on or off by the corresponding melody when turning it on and off, i.e. no need to check. It is very comfortable. Since on the old one, although I’m already used to it, every time after starting the engine I had to turn on the camcorder and start shooting, and then turn it off at the end of the trip. And here's a nice thing. I hung it and powered it in the same place as the radar detector and forgot about it. So far, he hasn't had to deal with it.

If you still have to ask for salvation, then this model has both a display and a lithium battery so that you can unscrew it and pull it out of the car and show it to whoever needs it.

There is one drawback here. No rewind. Therefore, it is better to set up splitting by 10 minutes, and it is easy to search for the desired video by folder number (this is the number of the month) and by the name of the video file (this is the date and time the recording started). Another disadvantage is that for about four seconds when it splits and saves the file, no recording is made during this time. That is, the right thing can get exactly in these four seconds. It remains to refer to the video that preceded the state of emergency, and which was after. Haven't found any more cons yet.
