Replacing rings - Toyota Sprinter Marino, 1.6 liter, 1992
After I drove it for about 50 thousand km, it began to consume oil terribly. Replacing the valve stem seals didn't help. Consumption was 1 liter per 1000 km.
Decided to change the piston rings. Immediately decided to change the liners, oil in a box with a filter. The whole process took place in a friend's garage. We started dismantling around 20:00. They brought the marinka around 10-00. All night without sleep.
It's been 60,000 miles since the replacement. I don't add oil between changes. Keeps normal. I am very pleased with the result.
No, there were no problems during disassembly and assembly of the engine. Although before that they did not climb. The book on this motor helped a lot (especially during assembly: tightening the block head nuts, installing rings). Good luck!
Hello, I painted it with ordinary paint - it peeled off after a month, now it is painted with heat-resistant paint (it lasts up to 600 degrees) - everything is fine, it does not go away. There are different colors, just like regular paint.
Hello, I see you have painted the collector protection! What did you color her with? Plain paint or what?
