Winter box W57 — logbook Toyota Supra 1996
Since the repair and delivery of spare parts for a good repair of 154 boxes is not a quick matter, all the more, I want to change everything that can be changed, I decided to take a W57 box for a ride for the winter.
By the way, the W57 differs from the W58 only in the gear ratio of the 5th gear, as well as in the bell. 57 for 1G engines, 58 for JZ. The rest are identical boxes. And the stock W58 was installed on the atmosphere supra with a 2JZ-GE engine .
At first, I wanted to leave the clutch from the 154th with a reverse squeeze, but abandoned this in favor of a direct native squeeze for the 57th box. So menshe alterations, only fasteners of the working cylinder.
In winter, there is no load on it, so it will withstand. All the same, everything will go to the box.
From alterations:
1. Make a custom bell from a bell from a 1JZ machine gun and a piece of a W57 bell.
2. Digest the splined part of the cardan.
3. Alter the fasteners of the working cylinder.

Hey!
hey mate, don't worry, just buy a new supra bell on existential or somewhere else,
it will cost the same or a little more than you pay for aluminum welding, but everything will be very clear and work like a factory
Yes, it has long been all collected and went. There were no problems. The only issue is the grip. I did not keep the boost above 0.5. And so quite a working box turned out. Collected just to ride, from what was at hand and as quickly as possible. In principle, it turned out to achieve the goal of making as quickly as possible a box that can be driven in winter. True, all the components of the coupling were boo. So, perhaps, it will really keep power on new parts
and by the way, if you globally repair the 154th, think about double synchronizers, I'm not sure, but they can probably be supplied together with the couplings from new versions of the boxes, this is the 110th mark, etc.
Yep, about that. But at that moment, I just didn't want to wait. Yes, and I got an interesting experience on adapting boxes in principle
well, I don’t know how much the bell is right now, but 2 years ago it costs 6500 new
was the 58th exactly under jay?
There are a lot of ga70 with 1g-gte engine and 58 mech from the factory. So it's not quite right here that 57 is for 1G, and 58 is for JZ
57 specifically for the 1G series.
58 was placed on the atmosphere of the supra with 2JZ. they differ in bells and the length of the 5th gear. The rest is identical. There are 55 more boxes. Also under 1G.
no, it is the 58th that goes to 1G-GTE)))
Is there a case of an extra input shaft on the 154th?
While waiting for an answer, I found it on the Internet, but thanks anyway)
The bells differ only in the side they are screwed to the engine (as you wrote above), but to the box itself they are the same)))
Yes, the mounting flange to the box itself seems to be the same for them. Differences in the bells in the engine mounting flange
Hello
Can you answer one question, if I have a w57 with a 1g bell, I want to swap the car to 1jz-gte with this box, I just need to find any bell from 58 jz and that's it?
No need to digest anything bell from 58 JZ fits 57?
Did I understand correctly?
