In addition to the pads, in the meantime I unscrewed the nuts on the candle wells and changed the gaskets. The effect, however, is palpable. The old gaskets were covered in oil on both sides, leaking and therefore flooded the candles. Not as much, of course, but enough to make the engine smell of oil, dull and tend to be harder than usual to start after frost. Gaskets have done wonders, at least work has become smoother.
They change elementary, but there is a benefit from this.
