Something broke in the transmission — logbook Toyota Altezza 2000
Saturday night I went for a drive around the city, sideways and taking pictures of chickens. First I went for a friend and nothing foreshadowed trouble. Already approaching his house, there was a strange knock somewhere in the cardan area. Similar to what happens when cornering on a welded differential.
Since I have tea leaves, I didn’t pay much attention, but the sediment remained
I thought it was the road surface. Guessed wrong! He waited for a friend and we drove off, the knock did not disappear, but rather increased even more. Came out to inspect the car, no external signs of damage. Let's go further, turn on the first gear and after 3 meters the knock began to be accompanied by blows. I turn on the neutral and the blows stopped, but the sound remained. I roll down the hill, wondering what could have happened. It is obvious that the breakdown is somewhere in the transmission, gearbox, cardan or box.
You can't go further, you can only roll. I called my teammates, they helped me drag the car to the garage, although I had to remove the bumper, since there was no other way to get to the hook.
The first attempt to drag the car failed, something jammed and the wheels blocked, the assumptions were - 90% that it was a gearbox and 10% that it was a box. He rolled back, made an attempt number 2, the car drove off, and we were already thinking about calling a tow truck! So they drove her to the garage without incident.
The time was later, somewhere around 02-00, I decided to leave the car until the morning, and then figure out what's what. I took a beer, my friends delivered me straight to the house, for which I respect them a lot, and I stomped to watch a movie.
Sunday. Noon.
I'm going to the garage, on the way I crossed paths with a friend. We went to the auto shop, bought everything you need and moved to disassemble the iron horse.
They made a bet that the main pair (GP) was screwed up in the gearbox. I twisted the drain plug and there was no doubt left, oil painting:
Of course, it could be a broken tea leaves, but we were sure that it was a GP. I drained everything to the end and the fuss began with the removal of the gearbox, otherwise the GP cannot be changed.
This is a laborious task, so I painted the front bumper in between. I sanded it, degreased it, and this is how it began to look after about a couple of hours:
Leave the bumper alone.
And so, the gearbox is removed:
We open the lid and see: a bitten GP driven gear and a magnetic plug with stuck metal chips and pieces of teeth
We pour out everything that was hanging inside and take out the differential
We see the drive gear from the GPU eaten by 1/3
Close-up. The teeth are broken off at the root!
Removed driven gear
That's it!
Fortunately, in such a case, a disassembled gearbox lay in stock, you just need to change consumables, wash everything from chips, assemble and put it in place. What am I going to do tonight.
Positive points:
Welding generally turned purple all these movements and breakdowns of the GPU
Blew the bumper and cilia in body color
Unpleasant:
Lost Saturday night and all of Sunday.
-1 main couple 4.1
Unforeseen expenses, about 1000r
I had to go by bus to work :)
On Monday evening, everything was ready, spent about 6 hours on everything about everything. It turned out of course for a long time because I did it slowly and in one.
The car now drives like before or even better!
I agree, it’s not in vain that 8 "reducers go on turks, and Alteza has 7.5" gears
, eventually I will switch to a larger one ... the winter is long :)
yes, there is nothing to rejoice at, we must do so in order to prevent this from happening
I also collect a mark on the stock 7.5 from the atmosphere ... I’ll go for a while and then I’ll preferably put the 8-ku immediately LSD 2 WAY
well, for those who don’t know how to take pictures, normul)
will be with us in the Kolyma - you are welcome =)
thank you :) shot on a soap dish and then I photoshopped them, but I don’t know how to use photoshop :))))
Yes, but it was not even that everything was sour, I have a pit for those who did not succeed in growth. I had to stand in a half-bent state, not very comfortable.
O_o
I won’t go to Novosib — the buses you have there are expensive sho scribe) ) )
you had a lot of sour there, as I understand it, if you managed to paint the bumper while you were shooting the gearbox? =)
ndya. . cruel well nicho — everything to tuning =)
and yes — em you 1krub spent on the bus or something? =) ) )
the angle was already negative) it was probably the "heel-toe" training that killed the GP
Ndaaa (((( Pash will have to PR @ VILNO learns to ride))))
SIDELY but correctly with a negative angle)
unpleasant (
