First impressions… — logbook Toyota Carina II 2009
Well, as a first note, let me tell you a little about the very beginning of the story "I + TOYOTA CARINA" ...
It was a company car that had an uncountable number of drivers, and it was used simply as a truck. Gray inconspicuous old car. THERE is a little rotten, the headlight is on scotch tape, there is a little bit full of holes, and there you can stick your finger into a hole with rot, well, the trunk does not open, maybe something else on trifles ...
She drove mostly until something fell off ... Is it worth talking about scheduled repairs, if in a 20-year-old car there were native Toyota racks from the factory in the back?! Well, the scooter driver (crunch) hit her, well, God bless him ... he’s going and okay.
At one (not) perfect moment, she got tired of it, and in the summer she stopped in the middle of an intersection in the center of a large city. Do not change transmission. "Engine jammed! Valves bent!" — immediately diagnosed the then driver. He slammed the door and just walked on. Karina stood for several weeks. Of course, she was dragged to the side of the road, but nobody really cared about the "collective farm car". It is understandable, who wants to get their hands dirty? there was nothing inside, no music, no other valuable "nishtyakov".
After a couple of weeks, found the owner and called — asked politely to remove the car. The director of the enterprise (in which, let me remind you, I worked then), gave the command - a tow truck, for disassembly. Even then, I was incredibly hurt and offended for her - for a devoted horse that demanded at least a modicum of attention ...
But there was nothing to do… We were taken for dismantling. They asked for three hundred bucks ... they said - leave the car and come back tomorrow. Came. paid $20 for a pump that broke down (and the engine overheated) and drove back. There was no limit to the chief's surprise. I didn't give it back. Asked for an installment. At your own risk, I drove it to my hometown (400 km). Arrived without problems. And I realized that I found it. (It is worth noting that I studied on the lawn, before that I practiced on the WV Passat B3) … in short, I fell in love. I decided that it would not cost to bring the car to mind ...
This is my next entry ...
In the meantime, a photo of the car in the "primary state" (please note that the car is washed, and then I took a picture of it on purpose so that the stocks (rust, rot, etc.) was not visible ...
As you can see, the left headlight is held on with adhesive tape ... the bumper is "smiling"
The gap between the headlight and the size, as well as between the headlight and the hood - more than half a centimeter
On the outside, the wing looks even more or less perky, but in fact it is incredibly rotten. You could use your fingers to open the hole...
The trunk opening lock almost fell through, under the number on the right, it is also very much glitched from the inside.
Here you can clearly see the second wing ...
