Wheels, tyres, disks, tires… — Toyota Celica, 1.8 liter, 2000
And now, for more than six months, I have been driving an R18 with a 40 profile. I decided to share my impressions, because for a while, and maybe even I’m tying a ride on these
disks.
To begin with, I put these 18 discs after my native 15 Toyota discs, which were
also with a profile of 55, which was reflected well, to put it mildly, strongly on the clearance of my car. As a result of this clearance, for example, the lip of the front bumper was replaced and painted. I scooped everything with it, especially when I drove up to the house, I also hooked the recumbent muffler when someone was sitting in the back in the car =) The width of the rubber was "205", it was more than enough for me to get acquainted with the machine, I won't complain =)
That's it it looked like:
Then a variant with 18 discs turned up, I really wanted bigger discs, in my case,
I think 18 are almost the largest that can be put in the Selick without resorting to any changes in the car, 19 I think with our roads it makes no sense at all = ) As promised, the car began to enter turns like a tram, only with the wheel it was worth telling the car where to steer and it, as if violating the laws of physics, strove and seemed to fly into turns. The feeling is wonderful, especially after 205/55=))) But everything cannot be so wonderful. The car perfectly enters the turns, the view is just awesome, it has become higher and I pass there without clinging, where not every car will pass without scooping =) again after 15 =) Cons? Unfortunately, there are downsides...
The first thing I felt was a loss of power (or torque) when pulling away.
Of course, if we consider that one disk 18 weighs like two with a penny 15 =) In general, the typewriter became difficult,
but they began to turn on it =) The second minus is definitely our roads and pits, from which
even the suspension does not save with such a profile =( Ride them you need to be a lot more careful, any hole is repairing the disk, etc.
Since I didn’t drive a lot, I didn’t attach much importance to this =) But when
it turned out that my new job requires constant and a lot of driving, I thought about comfort and
economy. And it would seem that in order to get comfort, efficiency and add dynamics,
you need to sacrifice something =) Well, money — it goes without saying. But nothing more to sacrifice and not
account =)))
I have long wanted forged wheels. Decided that the most optimal for me and my beauty will be 17
inch wheels. And just then Kosei K1 TS comes across on the forum, in general, disks that I really
like. Japanese, light (the transport company estimated them all 4 at 28kg), which could
not but rejoice me =) One disk needs repair, and the other three are almost new. Out of love for the typewriter, I ordered
a 4th disc. (It came out to me more expensive than these three) =) So far I just tried them on, now I’ll roll the tires to 18 and
put Kosei =) I’m waiting for an increase in dynamics, I don’t think the look of the car will get worse =)))
Brand new, it was nice to unpack:
And this is how the machine looks on the new 17s:
In general, those disks that are on the last photo are those that I can say dreamed of, with such a pattern I wanted to put them on top ten =)
Yes… Our pits are death to 18 discs…
At 18, you need to keep your ears sharp, and you don’t really drive =)
Now I also expect comfort =)
ps Come on, drive up to the meeting, summer is over =)))
Great discs! I removed 18 rollers because of our road builders. I ran into a pit with a sharp edging, which it was impossible to bypass, at a speed of about 50 km. BACH and all the tires are gone, the disk is slightly bent ... Now I ride on 16, but how soft! =)
by the summer I'll be back for 15 forging)))
and I’ll probably look for the Selick 17
Yes, I have a similar story on the Astra. also skated this summer on 18 wheels. rubber survived, without any hernias, but the wheels for rolling, on one there was a crack. Long story short, I sold them. also came to the conclusion that comfort and economy are an important aspect for a car for every day. now only a little light forging! in the furnace show-off, give rationality!
I also think it's cool =))
By the way, according to many selikavodov, 16 - the most optimal wheels for 23 bodies =)))
If the machine was white, then undoubtedly =)
And so it seems to me that it will not be a little. I'll try to photoshop =)
Kosei is definitely a better option, and I think in terms of practicality too ... do you want to blow them white? I think it will be cute.
Exactly! This is the main reason =)))
In this case, it's better to leave them as they are =))
It's better to repaint the car in white later =)))
Although, on the other hand, if you take white ones, then it’s better with factory painting, otherwise there are such painters that then you’ll wish a hundred times a hundred times to paint ...
Just give it to painters who are friends with powder coating, and not to collective farmers with enamel)))))
I will try in Photoshop how it will look, I will take into account your opinions =)
But I myself think that it will be wrong with my blue one =)
That's when you come to Sochi to rest, I'll show you where I usually live. You will understand me =)))
Thanks for the comment =)))
With discs included =))))
And I bought a new one, it was also there =)))
The set consists of two nipples and a cap =)
Everyone asks why two nipples =)
I don’t know the answer =)))
Oh yeah!
I really want to make an understatement back =)))
and then maybe drop before =)))
Thank you)
17 for me is the most ==)))
Maybe 18, but for them to be light, you need a lot of money =) By
the way, the spine is normal at 18, I left for half a year, everything is ok =) Suspension, in principle, too, if carefully =)
Congratulations ... I also already found 17)) I also
thought about 18, but damn it, I feel sorry for the car and my spine!
