First investment — logbook Toyota Caldina 1997
Having traveled and, so to speak, rolled up to the car, having experienced euphoria after the purchase, he began to listen to the operation of the engine and suspension, because. almost did not look at the car when buying, but in vain.
It turned out that the internal combustion engine has a tendency to overheat when, standing at a traffic light, I glanced at the temperature gauge. The hair almost stood on end, the temperature arrow was at the very top near the red zone. He immediately stopped and fell into thought. First thought: "In hit!" :(
Well, there is nothing to do, we go to the service.
It turned out that there is an oil emulsion in the antifreeze. The assumptions were very different. I tried to flush the entire cooling system, it helped, but not for long, again the oil appeared in the coolant. I changed 5 pieces of radiator caps, because the rubber bands on their valves are not oil-resistant, therefore the caps themselves failed. As a result, I took a comprehensive approach to the car, namely:
I replaced almost all parts of the front suspension (vertical silent blocks, links, SPU bushings, tie rods and tips, Bilstein black struts and OBK hd springs (reinforced, blue) with support cups). The rear cushion of the internal combustion engine was also changed; literally crumbled and there were noticeable vibrations in second gear when driving tight. Rear suspension is ok.
With the internal combustion engine, everything turned out to be not so prosaic, when trying to replace the thermostat, it turned out that the latter was simply absent in its place. A small shock ... As I understand it, they tried to hide the jamb of the motor during the sale, it turns out that the cooling system has always been closed in a big circle. They put it, it only got worse, the frequency of overheating increased.
Different thoughts again began to overcome my head. But finances were already singing romances about their absence in my pockets.
