Festive rides final part — logbook Toyota Hilux Surf 1994
Well, one car got up after the next water procedures. Shevik took a sip of water and stopped before reaching the shore.
They pulled him ashore. Opened the air filter. There was a lot of water, algae and dirt in it. Moreover, all this in no greater quantity passed through the filter. Having cleaned everything they could get to, they decided not to put the filter in place. There was nowhere to wash it, and even lying on the inlet of my engine, it was not completely dry. After cleaning and drying, tried to start Shevika. And the machine troy and not holding the momentum started up. After a few minutes, the work stabilized. Thanks to the MRV sensor, which did not give a sip of water by turning off the engine. A clean rag took the place of the filter.
Rag in place of the filter.
Shevik was last and you can see how much the water level dropped after we drove.
After such a tuning, although Shevik was driving, he was wildly capricious. Still, it can be understood, almost choked. And there were still fords ahead. But we were lucky. One of the deepest sections, where last winter we got out of the ice captivity for 3-4 hours. It just dried up, leaving nothing but a rut behind.
Meanwhile, it was already getting dark, the column turned on the light and slowly moved on. There were some 2-3 kilometers left to the city, but we were separated by another swamp with a stream and a rut from a shishiga. But the truth was still the choice to turn aside and through the forest to look for an exit to the asphalt, it was dry there and there were roads. But we are not looking for simple ways.
This simple and short-looking section was probably the most difficult of the entire journey. The depth of the rut reached, in some places it was higher than the rock, the bottom was unsteady, I scooped it up in one boot in rolled swamps. Plus affected fatigue and problems with Shevik.
The dzhimnik, as always, thanks to its size, easily slipped through the dry land, once driving into a rut.
This is the smallest track after the stream
Shevik simply refused to go into the mud. We pushed him and tried to drive with acceleration, but it did not work. As soon as the wheels of the car touched water and mud, the Shevik either stalled or simply did not pull. We realized that he did not need to go there. And they sent me through the forest on a dry road, looking for an exit to the asphalt with the support of the UAZ. Having agreed to meet at the entrance to the city, our remaining trio continued on their way.
I was the last to get over the Mitsu Challenger, which, having got a little stuck with its 32 mud rollers, dug a little and at the same time leveled the track. Taking not a big overclocking, the surfik slipped through the ambush spot, stalling a little on the road.
Then everything was simple, climbing up the mountain, we drove along a fairly good primer with a bunch of puddles. There were two ways close and far. After a little thought, let's go far because. the guys on UAZka and Shevik made a rather large circle, plus asphalt had yet to be found along a fairly extensive network of roads.
We arrived without incident. At the end of the road we met a clean land cruiser 200. He let our cars give way and very thoughtfully looked after our motorcade.
When we got to the city, we called our friends. It turned out that they had no problem a little rogue, drove onto the asphalt. After waiting for their arrival, having changed their shoes and washing the headlights, they went home.
As a result, I tore off a little fender liner. Everything else is buzzing, although you only have to climb into the air filter. Special respect to the driver shevika Max! On highway tires, not a lifted car, he rode with us on the level. Let not climb everywhere, but still rode.
And finally, an approximate map of our route.
Green is asphalt, red is off-road. Purple is Shevik and UAZ that separated from us. We went from top to bottom.
This is how the weekend went. Everyone was very pleased with the trip, despite the light level.
I read 3 parts of the adventure in the 6th! Beautifully written! The weekend was a success!
We are getting old. I am now trying to persuade our Lightovites to go to the local legendary Black Lake for barbecue. In the spring, the road there is only for prepared cars with a winch.
If you want to join! We want to do something like this next weekend. Only there are not many who want to. Saturday working.
Well done guys, I didn't know that Light had such a rest! I'll be waiting for the next rides! Cool!
Thank you. Bezdor for surf was not difficult, as they say, the eyes are afraid and the hands are doing.
read all three parts — I liked the story very much, the pokatushki are interestingly described :)
The photos are excellent and the off-road is real!
