Recording, November 17, 2010 — Toyota Camry, 2.0 liter, 1989

Yesterday morning, as usual, I went on business and felt that the engine was not running smoothly. I stopped and looked, I didn’t find anything criminal. But after driving some distance, the engine stalled on the go. .After diagnostics, it turned out that the timing belt slipped a few teeth (and it was also lucky that the valves did not meet with the piston because the motor is plug-in) The timing belt, bypass, tension roller were replaced.

Not 100%, but all the manuals say that when the piston belt breaks, they meet with valves. I looked into the combustion chamber on the pistons, there are no grooves for the valves.

Are you sure the valve is bent on this engine?
