Replacement of external door handles — Toyota Corona, 1.8 liter, 1998
Good day.
FOREWORD
I really like the look of the chrome handles on the 2001 Premyashka. But mine, unfortunately, in body color (although initially they were generally black).
While working in the sales of contract auto parts, I noticed that the external handles on T. Gaia (Nadia, Ipsum) are very similar to mine. Decided to measure the outside. Everything is correct. External dimensions are the same. This was followed by a call to friends (colleagues: Evgeny Viktorovich and Yuri Abablovich) in Japan with a request, if possible, to remove 4 external chrome handles from Gaia or Nadia, since most of these machines come with chrome handles. It took a month and a half pens were in my hands.
Front left and right did not require any alterations. Although there are some minor differences in appearance, this does not affect the functionality in any way.
The process of removing and installing the door handle is simple. Although there is a slight difficulty with installing a key lock for opening the door. There will be questions - ask. I will answer. It took about an hour for the first one. The second one took 18 minutes.
The rear was not so good. It took some tweaking to the design. The new handle was missing the axle needed to open the door.
But Russian ingenuity quickly found a solution to this problem. Thanks for the rational decision to Roman Olegovich.
To remove the rear handle, you need to remove the lock. To do this, it was necessary to unscrew the three bolts under the sprocket and remove one rod.
It took two and a half hours of free time to replace all the pens.
Body result.
The form is different.
These handles fit:
Caldina/Corona Premio/Carina body _T-21_
Corolla/Carib/Sprinter _E-11_
Ipsum/Gaia/Nadia
I wonder if the chrome handles will fit on Kaldina? They are painfully similar in appearance!
soon, after all, I will have such a thing. Tell me, what difficulties will there be? Is it easy to put the lock in place later?
There shouldn't be any problems, they are all standard, with minor exceptions, gaya nadia ipsum are the same
to change handles from ipsum to gaya, will any extraneous interventions be required or just remove your own and install chrome without removing the main lock?
Serega, thanks for the article, it helped a lot, for me the rear handles are easier to change than the front ones.

Serezha, hello, but you can’t help me out, you can find out the handles from ed exiv 20x bodies from which cars they fit, they are visually similar from the ipsum 10th body, and from the 110m Corolla they are also similar, but there is no way for me to compare. In Voronezh, there are no showdowns to stagger.
Hello, did you manage to pick up handles from another machine?

Alternatively, remove your handle and measure the main dimensions, I have several sets of chrome handles, as an option I will compare with mine.

yes, I even tried the brake, the latch snapped off and I can’t remove the traction
No)) I didn’t take it off))) I spat so as not to break it, I postponed the idea for now
Alexey good time. Was on vacation with no connection. Hope you already did. I lubricated with a silicone mask from a friend to remove it.
