About the grille moldings! - Toyota Corolla, 1.6L, 2007
I decided to slightly change the appearance of the grille. not drastically, but so. light stylish strokes.
Here's what I did.
In the image of the lattice swing of the completed Corolla decided to make chrome moldings on his own!
I went to the auto market and bought a chrome molding 12 mm wide, 1.5 meters for 80 rubles (sold by meters)
I drove into the garage, in a clean car, dried the surface of the grill, degreased the surface (with gasoline), rubbed it dry again and set to work!
Moldin fits very well, only the edges will need to be trimmed. they taper ... we do this work carefully and slowly. try it on and if everything is ok, peel off the protective tape of the tape and glue it!
I also glued the 8mm molding underneath, but it fell off ... the surface was wet.
Now I only go with the upper moldings! )
As I said, it looks really better than the stock. But from the bottom all the same, probably they are superfluous, it is better only the top.
That's for sure! ))))
Let me think about others having fun! ))) I'll tear it off myself! )))
Yes ... I peeled off the lower moldings. They are not securely fixed ... Too small area on which the molding is glued.
I decided that if they peel off on the go it would be funny! )))
The most common self-adhesive mold. It is sold in auto markets, shops ... I do not exclude that in some supermarkets. It's just harder to find them there.
What kind of tape? Glue it yourself? I think this is where to hit on your Ikstrail, to refresh the appearance slightly.
Molding is not known production. ) Maybe Korean, maybe Chinese.
It didn't matter much when buying. The main result. To look good and not fall off! )
And I don’t think that dealers can offer a price of 80 bars for them! :)
Looks cool ... did you buy Korean moldings or the original from a dealer?! I saw similar udiler sold in my region ...)
And I did not try to glue the moldings and where the glass around will be like a chrome package, but I think it will turn out beautifully
I agree! ) It just doesn't work out here ... The factory molding would look good around the glass. And this one is not very suitable for bends ... The joints will be collective farm! )))
And I want to do everything stylishly and neatly! )
Cool Escalade by the way! They offered to somehow change to Tribeca. But I'm afraid of such an expense! )))
Yes, you're right, the factory chrome looks good and the chrome package as an option for some companies reaches up to $ 400. And to do it yourself, and even with the bends it will not work out very well. But still a bold decision and respect you look.
I took your example and did the same for myself :) it turned out stylishly and neatly!))
