Installation of promotional brakes, or "what a magical thing, this flight ..."))) Part I — Toyota Celica, 1.8 liter, 2002
So, at the end of September 2010, a set of 4-piston brakes from PROMA, ordered at the beginning of August, finally came to me, which includes:
— Calipers
— Discs
— Pads
— Fasteners.
Please note that the kit was originally designed SPECIALLY for the Selick! And the question is, why the x ... the disc does not get on the caliper ?!
Maybe the wheels are just not original? OK. We are trying to put on the native winter. And still fuck it! Not even saved spacers, tk. the studs are very short (((
Disorder after disorder…
Well, at least there was an awesome reason to buy lightweight Japanese alloy wheels))) Or maybe to lengthen the studs (but there will be wheels anyway), so wait for the story to continue! Coming soon on screens...
Mdaaa to invest such a bunch of dough in non-working nishtyaki, this is probably very disappointing. In PROME, there are real specialists in the campaign :))))) It was necessary to install them, then THEY would be looking for a solution to the problem!
On the whole, congratulations.
Yes. but I just can’t decide on the color ... (
first I want white, then I decide on yellow, but in the end - “it should be black.â€
And again, all over again) cyclically)))
If the problem is short studs, then it doesn’t matter :)
Even if the wheels are replaced, sometimes you need to change the studs (bolts)
In the meantime, you can paint the calipers in a brighter color :)
I ordered with the expectation of the winter - at least 16, but they don’t even get up for the winter (((
and it’s just a matter of the discs coming out (only specially designed ones are suitable, and for Brembo) - They already lie))) that’s just a pity to me on to ride them in the winter, they are too good) that's why I want to lengthen the studs.
For extended studs - contact Toysport, somehow they helped me out with the same problem.
Calipers from the industry weigh! but they are focused on the diameter of the disks (for example, not less than 16 or 17), maybe because of this it is not set? Although the pictures seem to be universal 15-17.
There may also be an ambush in the X-factor, it is necessary to take into account the offset of the disks, in short, choose
the color of the car sekas black classic, always stylish for selka, yellow is cool but will soon get bored, purely unobtrusive IMHO)
because the stock brakes are not enough for 192 horses - they quickly overheat, everyone has noticed this.
And they just died for me
1) struts
2) bitten short-stroke
3) suspension with four-thread need to be smart)
4) carbon spoiler
5) repainting + vinyl
, etc.
and in general, tuning can only begin ...)))
but they are awesome) even according to the EXTERNAL comparison with the old ones)
I’m waiting for spring to change both the brakes and the Chinese casting to the cool Japanese one at once)
... a little expensive of course! but brakes are safety!
And in general, I like the new parts)
you can)
100% correct! well, firstly, it wasn’t me who installed them, but a dude who does this not the first time) and secondly, they fit perfectly on other rims.
well, thanks for the advice
May I ask about the brake discs installed correctly? I think they need to be replaced!
there’s a whole jamb in the offset, but how can you find out - that’s the question)
I measured the rims on the calipers (when I chose the rims), but on the contrary, it’s unlikely to work out (
ideally, you need to know in advance how much the caliper will stick out ... but it seems to me beyond reality)
Of course, this is correct =)))
But not everything is so simple for the same reason =)))
And it was unbearable to drive 15 =)
First, the disks, then I have everything else, even if it’s not right)))
By the way, the kosei often get up, I know 23 selicks (there is a truth of the rotor) where there are 17 kosei and all in a bunch =)
In general, of course, it’s a pity, I’ve chosen the disks, but when it comes to the brakes, no matter how I have to change ...
no, well, you imagine! discs (without modification in the form of studs and spacers) only specially designed for Brembo get on the brakes! PPC! Proma is 2 times cheaper, and the size is the same! I got a little crazy when out of 10-15 sets of rims, only 1 got on my Prom! and the one designed for Brembo!
Z.Y. waiting for spring
A good and right choice in terms of price-quality ratio!
The problem of almost all 4-piston brakes on the Selick (and maybe everywhere) disc overhang.
You can also solve it with spacers of a different type, where are your studs =)))
Agree. Not every disc has a knockout to know how it will fit even on ordinary ones, but here it’s generally hard, you really don’t know what to measure here ...
A well-known problem, you are far from the first to encounter this ...
Unfortunately, there is no convenient way out yet (((
The disks are definitely not installed correctly, because. the slots on the discs (perforation) should rotate while driving in the other direction for better braking system performance, and since you have them now, they will only eat brake pads and you will run out of them very quickly, checked!
Indeed, if a knowledgeable person put it, then why are the disks not in the direction? Maybe he didn’t fit the calipers correctly, so the discs didn’t fit properly?
paint the calipers red.) will look great. and so IMHO there is nothing better than stock brakes on the 2nd, checked!) it would be better if I changed the disks, I would take the original new ones on the existential and the pads are some kind of evil thread, such as hawk or trd … this is enough for the city easily! toyota engineers have thought of everything correctly with the brakes, you underestimate them, saying that there is not enough stock! it is enough and wow! with new pads and discs.
