Report on how I hand-made headlights =) - Toyota Mark II, 3.0 liter, 1993
Here is a long-awaited report on the installation of lenses in the "crystal" headlights Markovnik 90 body.
In general, having played NFSU many years ago, I became a fan of beautiful optics. And so, having bought a car for myself, I began to think about installing such optics (not only because of the exterior, but also for better illumination), but, because there are few options for 90 marks (or rather, almost none), it was decided to model them on their own ... Attempt No. 1 failed to smithereens, because. it was to "erase" all the risks on the glass of the stock headlights … In general, it did not work out)) The headlights gained the "frosted glass effect" =)).
Further blah blah blah ... =). Went to China, found headlights under the "crystal" — price 2500r (with twists) and Bi-Xenon lenses (with eyes =)) — price 1500r. Then he came, dismantled, filed, inserted, assembled, connected, satisfied =).
But seriously:
The main thing is to have hands and ingenuity))).
We disassemble the headlight (and it is oh so easy to disassemble, there is almost no sealant in the Chinese headlight).
Carefully unscrew the "fog".
We try on the lens in it, and mark with a marker those places that "prevent" us from "planting" the lens deeper into the "fog".
Then we saw off these "extra parts". We measure, we saw off more ... And so on =).
As a result, we get that the lens is placed tightly in the "fog", and plus everything is pressed against the glass ...
Further, we paint the whole thing (you can, in principle, not paint).
That's it, we ride, we rejoice ourselves, and we rejoice others =).
PS
1) I brought the blue eyes to a separate toggle switch, because the color does not allow you to ride with them freely.
2) My lenses are not fixed in any way (apart from the fact that they are tightly in the "fog", because the lens is very large for a Markov "fog", and if you put it differently, then it rested either on the body or on the glass I didn't think a bit when I bought lenses, I advise you to take this into account (there are lenses of a different type), but I will fix this issue soon;).
3) Bi-Xenon lenses, but I didn’t connect this same Bi, in the sense that the “fogs†work for us only in 2 modes — “on†and “off†=)).
4) Sorry, few pictures, because in the process was not up to "fotanya". But I think the point is clear.

Normal halogen, but closer to summer I plan to replace it with a "good" halogen (white and bright), and put strobes =)

I also screwed the lenses into crystal, only as a low / high beam, I want to stick a couple more lenses for fogs, it will be "ala bmw")
