Thermostat replacement — logbook Toyota Sprinter 1988

With the onset of cold weather, the car began to warm up terribly for a long time, the temperature arrow began to fall at speed (it was treated with cardboard in front of the radiator), it was terribly cold in the cabin, my feet were cold. What to do? Definitely change the thermostat.

We take:

1. Thermostat WV48B-88 (480 rubles)
2. O-ring for it (40 rubles)
3. Two liters of antifreeze (290 rubles)

We go to the garage to rusdj and change the whole thing safely)

Old thermostat stuck open:

The new one is beautiful and clean:

PS: The car began to warm up much faster, but the stove did not blow hot air, as the most likely reason, the stove radiator was clogged, but that's another story :)

PPS: The thermostat used to be at 82 degrees, the new thermostat was set at 88, it should be better, on the forums people promise Africa in a single car :)

Good deal!
I also changed it a month and a half ago - exactly the same (TAMA), this particular model, and I also had to buy a ring (the old one got wet, but I didn’t want to pull the bolts because I already know how it could end).
There were no particular complaints about the old one, except for the case when a laden person fell into an 800-meter pass with air conditioning and noticed that the temperature arrow went down a little (!) I remembered that I bought a thermostat about 5 years ago (it turned out that it wanders from car to car ), so I decided to change for prevention. Along the way, I flushed the entire cooling system, which was actually the main event.

In general, if the stove, evaporator, and others like it are not clogged, Africa will indeed be in the cabin.

hot winter in your car) and what would blow hot, blow through the radiator and see how the dampers open.

The main suspicions go to the stove radiator, it looks like it is clogged from the inside, because of this, the antifreeze does not pass through it well (the inlet tube warms up slowly), and the outlet is always cold, respectively. Residual heat is blown off by a fan. An autopsy will show

The most interesting thing is that yesterday, after I published this post, I left, and while I was driving from Balyaev to Molodyozhnaya, very hot air gradually began to blow from the stove) And just today, I was driving from the Second River to Gogol, and now there is already air in the Gogol area it’s hot hot, it’s unpleasant for the hand) In general, after 15 minutes, if not Africa, then something close begins) Of course, I would like to immediately)

After cleaning the radiator, it seemed to get a little better, but I didn’t really have time to feel it, because. sold the car 2 weeks after this procedure.

what did the radiator reveal? I also get warm for a very long time (the thermostat changed) and it’s cool from where it blows at my feet,
