Wheels and tires - Toyota Corolla, 1.6L, 2007
Having skated last year on 17 wheels in the summer, I began to ponder whether to put me 18. On long winter nights, I lamented to put or not. As a result, this day has come. It was decided to put it.
Now the problem of choosing a design arose. Stopped on disks from Lexus IS250. Toyota and Lexus seem to be blood brothers, so these particular wheels are very suitable for my car. Replica Lexus (LX12) 8 * R18 / 5 * 114.3 / 45 / 60.1 Silver were purchased.
Then the question arose of choosing tires. At 17 I had a Bridgestone Potenza RE001 Adrenalin with a size of 215 / 45-17. The rubber proved to be very stable on dry and EXTREMELY disgusting on wet surfaces. The feeling of aquaplaning and the feeling that I was on skates, not rubber, was constant. Therefore, the choice fell on a different rubber. Namely on the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 225 / 40-18 92Y. At the moment, I was convinced myself that the tires are just awesome. Dry stability is excellent, if tail drift is predictable. On wet it is the same as on dry, even when cornering.
But, due to his illiteracy, and some mechanics, in the first 2 weeks he managed to kill 2 cylinders. As it turned out, they were pumped to me by 2.0 bar. It is because of this, in a very small hole, that I just tore 2 cylinders. Having studied, having talked with people, I found out that you need to download before 2.7, and the backside 2.6. Certainly harsh, BUT, you have to pay, either for comfort, or for tires.
I pumped my 18s as a standard, it seems so far everything is ok, and quite comfortable.
Yes, I also thought a bit too much 2.7 for the front end too much. How many cars came to us for service with large "rollers", then 2.3-2.5 bar it was a side-chapel, although the difference between 2.7 is not big and nothing will be terrible, it will definitely be more collected in taxiing.
well, in terms of rigidity, how the car will drive, 2.3 and 2.7 the difference will be VERY significant, at least I judge by the sensations of my 5th point)))
The difference in stiffness, between 2.3 and 2.7, of course, is, but it is not so colossal.
At the moment, for me the integrity of the wheels and rubber is more important than comfort.
It's just that we have SUCH ROADS in Samara, it's horror. Pits on the roads as after the war. So I'd rather be safe.
As for the assassins, yes, there is such, but there was also a small minus. With the active passage of the rings, if you release the gas a little, the rear part strives for demolition, although it may be the asphalt while it is cold.
Mirrors with turn signals, these are the details that I brought from Thailand!
Although the Toyota Center began selling this device, the cover and turn signals from Avensis are one-on-one.
Potenza is by definition good rubber on any surface ... maybe you took a leftist ?!
I swing around in my 2.5 ... the first day, too, foolishly went to 1.8 ... it was soft =)))
I took it for myself, Work Discs, put different tires, in front of Yokohama 215x40, behind Toyo Proxes T1S 225x40, I stood rooted to the spot. And I decided the size 18, although it could have been larger
at the expense of tire pressure you are right! The other day I drove into a small hole and PPC - one balloon in a landfill)
