Undressing the engine - logbook Toyota Crown 1991
I didn’t remove the engine from the frame - it stands there on the stand and you can crawl from all sides. It was not difficult to remove the attachment from the engine, though I still lost a couple of bolts - as without it, but I still have a whole engine "on the bolts" :).
So, I removed:
the exhaust manifold,
intake manifold,
remnants of fuel equipment,
hoses and pipes of the cooling system,
brackets
compressor (aka Super Charger)
In the process of parsing (and initial inspection), there were such shortcomings:
- the compressor bearing makes noise (where the pulley is)
- some rubber bands are cracked
- there is no one sensor (help identify it), where the thread is next to another sensor
— the thread on one of the bolts of the compressor cover is torn off.
It's all very optimistic :)
The other day I drain the oil, remove the pan, head - we look at the condition of the cylinders, crankshaft, liners, etc. ...
sorry for the quality of the photo (very disgusting :(
thanks!
What kind of catalog is it? Is there such a catalog on the Internet?
you need to buy a book on the engine, maybe there is something there.
Strange, in the catalog I found only one sensor in this place - 83420-20020, although I have 3 of them there. Two with large connectors, orange and green, and one with a small single connector.
Here is the one that you have on top, the same only green is in the place where you do not have a sensor. And the one to the right of it, I have with one contact, looks like a limit switch.
Here is a photo of my engine photofile.ru/users/smanick/96175552/120548304/
thanks for such a detailed answer!
according to the former owner of the engine after the capital, only the camshaft broke in half :)
they changed the head and didn’t really put it together ...
but what is a "murzilka"?
the bearing makes a noise that spins at idle when the compressor is off.
I shot with my phone, but I forget to take the camera, and it's a pity :) but I will improve the quality of the photo!
Well done for re-posting.
1. it seems that this bearing is changing, I didn’t do it myself, but there is a replacement procedure in the Murzilka ... but SST (special tool) is needed there. Do you have noise on the pulley? Is the plug-in bearing
loose?
2. Gum is already from age. And the pipes can be narrower, especially if antifreeze was poured.
3. This is a 2-pin temperature sensor that goes to the ECU, in the 3rd generation it was slightly modified (it seems that the connector is different in form and of a different color), but its characteristic has always been standard: about 300 ohms for hot, and then it increases several times as cooling down.
In principle, you can put any 2-pin Toyota, after having dinner that the characteristic matches.
If I removed the machine gun, then I advise you to change the oil seal on the butt of the engine, but be sure to competently and accurately (you can’t drown it), a friend climbed 2 times.
If the engine did not knock, then most likely only the rings and liners should be changed.
Write down the mileage and take pictures of the pistons, liners, valves, camshafts - very interesting. Only more light, I see your camera does not like darkness (this is normal).
If you crop in Photoshop, there is a useful combination Ctrl + Alt + Shift + L
