A bit of electronics - logbook Toyota Sprinter Trueno 1998
I still have some electronic devices from the previous car. Namely, BK Multitroniks, Apexy RSM (with g-sensor) and Depo Racing oil temperature and pressure sensors. True, I had to order new glasses for the sensors, since the relatives were badly damaged by fragments of the windshield during an accident at the marinka.
While all this was lying in the closet, I decided to check the oil temperature sensor. Somewhere on the net I saw a test in which the sensor from the AutoGauge device was lowered into boiling water and decided to repeat it :) By the way, Avtokaka showed 95 degrees in that test, instead of the prescribed 100. I filmed this test on video, you can also see the "turn-on ceremony" there and response time. Shot on my phone - the quality sucks. The moment when the sensor falls into the water can be tracked by a particularly shaking camera :D
As you can see, the sensor shows the temperature quite accurately, at least in the case of water :) But the arrow rises quite slowly in my mine, although I have nothing to compare with. Oh well, it's better than nothing.
Also during this time I updated the firmware in multitroniks, although in principle there were no updates useful for my trueen, but it's nice to know that I'm using the latest version :)
Waking up on Saturday afternoon :) I thought that it would be enough for all these devices to lie down - you need to put it on the car. To this end, I decided to pay a visit to my parents - they have a warm garage.
Working in this is a pleasure. It's -30 outside, and +25 in the garage, you can at least wear shorts. Too bad there is no hole. Although, in general, it is all one big pit, because this garage is underground :) Getting there on a puzoterka is also another problem - the descent is steep and at the end the front lip catches. I had to put boards under the wheels. Since there was no one to help, they had to go down a few centimeters, run out of the car, look so that nothing hit anywhere, a few more centimeters, look again ... drove in for about 10 minutes :) And their qashqai flies there with a whistle :)
At the same time, the handbrake checked on a steep descent — keeps excellent, but still, just in case, insure the inclusion of the transfer.
All the same, having gone down, I dismantled half of the panel and set to work :)
On the interior plastic on the inside there were huge deposits of dust — all peeled off. You should probably put in a cabin filter.
In the process, I discovered the remains of a former Japanese collective farm in the form of 2 wires. One of them was connected to the wire from the speed sensor, the second to reverse, both had stickers with hieroglyphs written with a marker. I don’t even know what kind of stray the Japanese put there :) Also, a certain wire with a light bulb at the end was found - it’s also not clear from where. It doesn’t look like a collective farm, but I didn’t find where to stick it.
When I put all this on the marinka, I simply connected the wiring to twists and electrical tape. Now I wanted to do everything a little neater and more convenient, so I pre-purchased father-mother connectors, heat shrink and ties. When connecting devices to the ECU, I used an adapter so as not to cut my own braid.
I tried to run the wires next to the standard wiring. As a result, I spent the whole evening and midnight :)
About the actual connection of devices, I think it makes no sense to paint in detail - everything is written quite clearly in the instructions. If anyone has any questions about this, ask - I will sign in more detail.
By the way, despite the ease of connection, I still managed to screw up with the connection to the speed sensor. Neither Rsmka, nor multitroniks, nor the ECU saw the speed. And so it went for 4 days. What is strange, Truen reacted to this only on the 3rd day - the "Check Engine" lamp lit up and error 42 came out. Why it took so long to think - it's not clear.
Yesterday I went to the garage again and fixed everything. The reason turned out to be banal to disgrace - he mixed up the input and output of the speedometer.
But trouble does not come alone. As soon as I drove out of the garage, the Jackie Chan light came on again. Diagnostics showed error 41 (in descending order :)). Found it in a book — throttle position sensor error. Which side I touched her I can’t imagine. It turned out "we treat one thing - we cripple another."
UPD. Still figured out the throttle sensor. More precisely, no, I didn’t figure it out ... I disassembled everything (for the third time already):), I pulled out the plugs and stuck it back - the error disappeared, the TPS works, what was the problem is not clear. The "try turning it off and on again" method worked :D
Multitroniks and sensors placed on the panel in the center:
In the dark it looks like this:
Rsmku not fixed yet — while I plan to put on top of the steering column. I wanted it on the panel to the right of the steering wheel, but the wiring from the g-sensor, which I glued on top of the airbag control unit, does not reach.
After installing the multitronics, I found that the temperature of my antifreeze practically does not rise above 76-78 degrees, even on relatively warm days (-10). I immediately thought the thermostat was stuck open. Feeling the pipes on the radiator when the car was warming up, I realized that the thermostat was still not jammed, but it starts to open earlier than the prescribed 82 degrees, by about 72-74. Thoughts even crept in that perhaps a tuned one was installed, like a turbojet engine at 71 degrees :). These hopes, of course, did not come true, it just looks like the thermostat was there from the factory and there were damages on it (the photo shows in the center).
I replaced it with a new original — the typewriter became warmer :)
Pomonitoril oil temperature - up to 100 degrees, it began to warm up only when stuck a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator. I concluded that I would postpone the installation of the oil cooler until spring, or you need to buy a spacer with a thermostat.
I haven’t taken any measurements with the rcmkoy yet - you don’t really drive through the snowdrifts :)
I wanted to write a small note, but it turned out to be some kind of lengthy post. Maybe it's time to turn around :)
Issue price: 18 500 ₽ Mileage: 156500 kmI looked at the box - I did not find the country of manufacture. The office itself seems to be Japanese. But since the site says that they are made in Taiwan, they probably are :)
But xs to be honest, on the sensors themselves, where the scale is, Depo Racing Japan is written. In the evening I'll examine the boxes for the inscription "made in *****" :)
Yes, even the descent there would be more gentle :) The
sensors seem to show themselves well :), I did not notice any problems with them. The figures are adequate. I even checked the temperature. Unfortunately there is nothing to check against.
I took them for a long time on the announcement on the drome, then I did not know about this store. But I already bought more glasses from them.
Awesome garage :) Incidentally, how the sensors manifest themselves. The price seems to be adequate, here I took www.deporacing.ru/
