An attempt to make cilia) — Toyota Paseo, 1.5 liter, 1997

    Toyota Paseo 15 1997

I found the instruction on the site Cynos.ru by Odder
I decided to try my luck)

Briefly, some edited excerpts from ...

A set of materials:
Epoxy (not knowing about how much I bought for future use 400ml)
Fleece (porous synthetic material) - in my test version I used a regular medical bandage 5cm * 5m (later I found fleece and cut it out of the lining of an old jacket)
Scotch
Plasticine
Cellophane bag (a couple pieces)
Brush
Utensils for mixing epoxy
Piece of cardboard
Primer
Paint
Putty
Sandpaper

Add. tool:
Pencil
Ruler
Knife
Scissors
Laundry soap
Plywood for bedding

Step 1
Remove the headlight and turns. I connected the headlight and the turn signal, secured it with a bolt, inserted a piece of cardboard into the seam and secured it with adhesive tape from below.

Step 2
"I designed and cut out a prototype of the future eyelash from the same self-adhesive and pasted it on the headlight." - I didn’t do this item, because it’s better to deal with design after manufacturing ... anyway, it’s impossible to keep the intended shape right away

Step 3
With the help of plasticine, I brought out the difference between the turn signal glass and the black sealing plastic.

Step 4
Apply a soapy solution of laundry soap to the entire surface of the headlight and cover with cellophane from a regular bag.

Step 5
I cut out the future eyelash from white fleece according to the template. I mixed the hardener and epoxy in the proportions that the seller told me (that is, the whole jar of hardener for the entire bottle of epoxy).
Then I soaked the inside of the fleece with epoxy and applied it to the headlight housing and once again filled it with epoxy from the outside.

Step 6 The
corners of the fleece, having been soaked with epoxy, began to bristle a little and decided to press them with the same cellophane only from above. And evenly spreading the epoxy over the eyelash left to dry.

Then, using the same technology, I applied a second layer of fleece to it.

Step 7
I remove the dried eyelash from the headlight. I cut, sand to the desired shape and get a blank for priming and painting.

And then my weekend is already over =)

Here's what I got as a prototype (not puttied or sanded)
